It was safe to say that life on the Steadfast...was not that bad.
A week had passed since she'd dined with Ap'Lek on her first night, and she hadn't seen him since. Nor had she seen or heard from Valour, which had put a damper on her time in the hangar bay working under Halsi, who turned out to be brilliant but as foul tempered as a Rancor.
The older woman had a full head of silver hair and a face that looked her age, which Cordelia assumed was 8 and 70 years at least. Though she still moved like a woman more than half of that age. When Cordelia impressed the woman, she hummed but didn't comment. It was when Cordelia did something incorrectly did the women show the side that fit well with the Order.
On her way back to her quarters after her shift, looking forward to collapsing on her cot. The halls of the Steadfast were only beginning to fill as the rest of the inhabitants were waking and making their way to their stations. Cordelia didn't speak to anyone, Hardly looked up from the gleaming white floors as she made the twenty minute walk.
When she slipped into her room without bothering to turn on the lights, Cordelia fell into bed. Exhaustion had slowed her mind enough that it wasn't until she'd landed did her eyes register her bed was not in fact vacant.
Laying atop Ap'Lek, Cordelia's exhaustion slowed mind only allowed her to rise up onto her hands as she looked down on the Knight lounging back in her bed.
"Mother of Moons! What are you doing in my bed!" She shrieked, fumbling to get up when she registered all the places their bodies were pressed against one another.
"Did you expect me to sit in waiting, while you meandered your way back from the hangar? I work enough." He said when she'd made it to her feet and turned the light on.
The room flooded with harsh overhead light, causing Ap'Leks eyes to narrow in annoyance at the sudden brightness. He rose onto his elbows, perfectly content to remain in her bed.
"Why are you here Ap'Lek?" Cordelia said in an exasperated tone, rubbing her eyes.
"I figured you would like to visit Valour, but if I'm being such a bother, please excuse me. I will unburden you." He rose quickly, his movements smoother than she could ever achieve.
Cordelia rushed to grab his arm, which caused his mouth to twist in a smirk before he turned into her and raised his brow at her hand on his arm. Cordelia released him and stepped away.
"Truly? I can see him? Today?"
He nodded.
Cordelia's mind was hyper focused on that fact. She started for her small closet. Her current attire was covered in grease, oil, and every other unsavoury substance she handled while working on the TIE Fighters. Grabbing a change of clothes, she threw them on her bed and quickly disrobed. Her new slacks were halfway up her legs, pulled tight across her thighs when Ap'Lek cleared his throat.
Cordelia's eyes shot up to meet his own, openly appraising her. Gasping in shock, Cordelia spun away from him, not caring her ample ass was still on display.
"What the hell Ap'Lek, get out!" She yelled, finally sliding the pants up and securing them.
"I'd through I'd need to be far more convincing to get you to underdress for me." He said in a voice that was far raspier than it had been a few minutes earlier.
Had he just widened his stance?
Groaning, Cordelia slid her plain grey shirt over her head and turned back to the man in her bedroom. She scowled at him, though she supposed she couldn't blame him. Her sleep deprived mind had been so focused on seeing Valour she'd expecting Ap'Lek to step out and wait for her to change. Instead, she'd just gotten practically naked for the Knight, who now looked at her with an entirely different kind of hunger in his eyes.
