The next morning was the day when Gavin had to leave, there was a bus waiting for him at the bus station that Peter and Delilah took him to. Peter carried his bag for him, as all three of them walked together, Peter smiled as they stopped at the bus station, waiting for the bus to arrive. Which gave Gavin the opportunity to say goodbye to two of the most important people in his life.

"So, this is it?" Peter asked,

Gavin nodded. He knew that his life was going to be on the line making this step. But this was all he ever wanted to do with his life, and spend the rest of his life doing, even after the war, and if he is wounded and was told he would never be able to fly again, he would definitely want to train future pilots. And maybe do something involving flying.

"I'll write to you every week." Delilah said to him as she kissed his cheek.

"I know you will," Gavin said to her, "And I will do the same."

Gavin hugged his Delilah and reached in to kiss her. As he let go, Peter gave Gavin his bag and gave him a hug goodbye.

"Just come back alive, alright," Peter said, "And make sure every part of you is in the same piece."

Gavin chuckled. Because he didn't know either, he didn't know if he would come home with a missing limb or a missing body part. Delilah wanted to have a family, so that was also in her mind. What would happen if something were to happen to him? Would all their dreams of building a life together be shattered, only time would tell.

Minutes passed and the bus had arrived, Gavin sighed and realized that this was it. He couldn't believe that this was finally happening. The life he always wanted, was happening right in front of his eyes. The bus door opened and he grabbed his bag and sighed.

"Just come back." Peter said, "For all of us."

Gavin hugged Peter again.

"You really are going to be an incredible pilot, I know you will. Even when I am not around."

Peter knew that Gavin was right, he had so much potential. But he just didn't know it, Mike has been telling him that since he started his training.

"Now... you two look after each other." Gavin sighed, "That's your future sister-in-law Pete."

Peter chuckled as Gavin took a step on the bus and sat down right in front. They both watched as the bus door shut and Gavin took a seat in the front near the window, so he can see clearly and say goodbye properly. As He looked out the window to see Delilah tearing up and Peter waving to him and later saluting him. Peter was definitely proud to call Gavin his brother.

"I love you!" Delilah called out and waved to him as well. So he would be able to see her, and she hoped that he could read her lips, but she wanted him to know how much she loved him because she loved him like Juliet loved Romeo.

Gavin called out "I love you too." but he couldn't hear her because the window was closed, but she knew that he was saying it. Peter looked at Delilah and she looked at him back.

"He will return," Peter said, "I don't say that without a doubt."

"I think so too." Delilah responded silently, "He is one of the strongest men I know."

"I know how much you love him. And how much he loves you." Peter added on turning around and later walking off. Delilah knew Peter was right, he was always right. And he was not afraid to be blunt and honest, no matter how hurtful he was being. But, sometimes people need to be honest, unlike guys like Dominic.

Gavin was sitting on the bus all alone realizing that this was actually happening, and at that moment he was about to get the life he wanted. He didn't know where he was going and where he was being sent. But he knew that this was going to be a life-changing mission, and he was finally going to get the opportunity to prove what an excellent soldier he was. He reached the airport and saw a sign with his name on it with a colonel standing outside the airport waiting for him.
