Peter stayed at home with his family for the past three weeks, he didn't expect things to be difficult. With his father acting up, he barely spoke to him, but his mother tried his best to help him out as much as possible. She knew Peter was struggling. Peter was struggling the most out of anybody, but Peter was trying his best to be strong for his parents, given the fact that his father was not doing great at all, he was drinking even more than usual, there were some points where he was angry at his father, for encouraging Gavin to enlist in the first place. But Gavin knew how to beat back their father was, and how much war could affect a man, they saw the hell John Kelly put his two sons through, but Gavin just cared about being a hero. So a part of Peter was angry at Gavin too.

But as he was coping, He didn't even bother trying to call Delilah, because he felt like it would hurt too much. To see the girl that Gavin loved so much, heartbroken and full of sadness. But he tried to remember how strong Delilah was.

Peter woke up bright and early, and he saw that there was a plane outside, Peter looked at it briefly. It seemed like yesterday he and Gavin were playing around in it pretending they were fighting in the war, he looked at it and tried to remember the good times that he had with his brother. From fighting over the littlest things, and playing in the yard. He missed Gavin, more than anyone can imagine.

Until an idea sprung on him, to test it out, even though it was an old plane. He thought it would be fun to play around with an old plane. Maybe test it out, to see if it would work. Peter went in the plane and tested out some engines the first engine worked so he started the plane to see if it worked. The plane went up in a matter of seconds, and he flew it around the yard for a few minutes. He felt like his old self, after being in a funk for a matter of almost three weeks. But it took only three weeks to move past everything and try his best to be his old self again.

He needed to regain his wings.

Peter landed the plane and hopped out of it.

As he went inside, he heard Violet talking to someone and looking through old photographs, as he went into the living room, where his mom was. He noticed that it was Delilah she was talking to. He was in somewhat of a shock to see her. He walked over and Delilah stood up, to somewhat be polite.

"Hi Peter," Delilah said quietly and a bit awkward

"How did you know I was here?" Peter asked,

"Your mother called," Delilah said, "She wanted to see me."

Violet looked at Peter, and Peter looked over at Delilah, it seemed like a happy reunion, but the thing that was keeping them reunited was a family death, which was not something anyone should be looking forward to. Death was not always a happy thing, especially in the middle of a war, Gavin's death especially was taking a toll, and Violet called Delilah because she thought maybe she could help Peter.

"It's good to see you." Delilah said to him, walking over to him to confront him

"Yeah..." Peter said silently, "you too."

Violet walked off, she thought maybe it would be a good chance for the two of them to talk. Maybe catch up on everything, it has been a while since they talked three weeks of course it seemed like it has been forever. And Delilah was supposed to be his sister-in-law after all.  So in some ways, she was still family to Violet, but Peter he considered her someone close in his life, because anyone that Gavin loved, is someone that he could love almost as equally. Delilah was someone he cared about deeply, and he regretted going back home and not telling her, but he didn't know what to do. He was emotionally and mentally drained, and almost gave up being in the military, but he can't quit, even if he wanted to. His country was at war, so there was no time for quitters, and Delilah seemed to understand that.
