Chapter 4: Let's Gamble, Shall We?

"You do not ghost the Student Council President like that."

"I just did."

Tamara took a sip of her martini and acted as if there was nothing wrong with what she did.

"T-there will be consequences, Edwards-san. The Student Council President, she-"

"I'll worry about it later," she said.

Right after the afternoon class ended, the Student Council President told Tamara to meet her at the Student Council Office since she just have to take care of some things before she shows her around the school. But instead of meeting the Student Council President, she goes to find Ryota for her gamble with Yumeko.

"Now where's Yumeko?"

Just right after she said that, Yumeko emerged from the 2nd Year Hana Classroom.

"Tammy-san!" Yumeko called her and hugged her. "I knew you'd come!"

"You do?"

"Yep!" she said and dragged Tamara into their classroom. She enter their classroom to find a single desk at the center of the classroom with 2 chairs placed on the opposite ends of it. The other desks and chairs are placed on the side where Yumeko's classmates are chatting with each other.

"Tammy-san, this is my classmates. Classmates, this is Tammy Edwards!" Yumeko cheerfully introduced you to her classmates.

"Nice to meet you, Edwards-san!"

"Nice to meet y'all too."

"American Bitch."

Tamara quickly turned her head after she heard that familiar voice. She smirks as she finds Mary sitting alone in a corner.

"Ayo, Pikachu!" she chimed and waved her hand at Mary. "Fancy seeing you here."

"I'm Yumeko's classmate too, you dumbass!"

"Now, now," Yumeko said to call everyone's attention. "I would like to thank my classmates for helping me prepare and create this game. I appreciate it. Truly, what happened in the past was all behind us now."

"Tammy-san," Yumeko turned her head to face Tamara. "The game that we will be playing today would be Casino checkers."

"Casino what?"

"This!" Yumeko gets a huge 10x10 draughts board with red and black squares and shows it to her. "Casino checkers!"

"We would be playing 3 rounds of it. Separate bet for each round but the same value. Basically, if you win 2 or much better, all 3 rounds, your prize will be double or triple of the proposed bet. For example, if you win two rounds and the bet for each round is one hundred yen, you'll get two hundred yen. If you win all three rounds and the bet for each round is one thousand yen, then you'll get three thousand yen!"

A classmate of hers, which Tamara recognizes as one of the three girls that bullied Mary earlier, approaches her and gestures to get the checkerboard that she presents to Tamara. "Thank you, Aruka-san!" Yumeko thanked her. Tamara on the other hand glared at her until she placed the board on the top of the desk.

"However, in some very rare cases where the players have a draw, the player who captured the most chips for all three rounds would be the winner. But unlike winning the game with 2 or all 3 wins, the player who captured the most chips would only get the base bet for all three rounds. For example, if player1 won by capturing more chips than player2 and their bet for each round is five hundred yen, player1 will only get five hundred yen."
