Chapter 14: Healthy Living

"That's all for today. Enjoy your lunch," their English teacher said and left their classroom.

"Finally!" Tamara yawned and stands up from her seat to stretch out her arms. She always gets bored during their English Class. For her, there's no need to study the language she has been using every day for the past five years. She's confident that she'll pass this class without putting any effort into it.

"Ayo, seatmate-" she stopped talking as soon as she finds out that her seatmate was nowhere to be seen. "Where the hell did she go?"

She sighs and gets her lunch bag, leaving her classroom to fetch Nanami. It's Nanami's first lunch after she paid for her debt the other day. She didn't get to hang out with her after school so she is making up for it today. Also, she wanted to be friends with her and to know her better.

"Ayo! Nanami!" she called Nanami who is sitting alone in her classroom and waved her hand at her.

"Edwards-san..." Nanami muttered. Her face immediately brighten up as soon as she saw the greyish-green-eyed girl outside her classroom. She packs her things and joins her outside. "Konnichiwa, Edwards-san!" she greeted her and bowed.

"Good afternoon to you too," Tamara greeted her back. "You eat your lunch already?"

"N-not yet..."

"Great!" she showed her lunch bag to the short-haired girl. "Let's have lunch together!"

Tamara starts walking with Nanami following her closely. "We'll just fetch our other friends," she told her. "They're all friendly except for Pikachu but don't worry, I'll handle her." They are heading towards the 2nd year Hana Classroom where Yumeko, Mary, and Ryota are. As soon as they reach their classroom, they see Yumeko leaving her classroom while hugging Mary's arm. Ryota on the other hand is behind them.

"Tammy-san!" Yumeko greeted as soon as she saw Tamara. Like the clingy person that she is, she lets go of Mary's arm and hugs the other girl. "I've missed you!"

"You like me, do you?"

"Mhm!" Yumeko hummed and let go of Tamara. She then notices the new girl accompanying her. "Who is she?" she asked about Nanami.

"Oh right, introductions." Tamara clears her throat before speaking. "Everyone, this Nanami Tsubomi. Our new friend," she introduced Nanami to the three. "Nanami, this is Yumeko Jabami."

"It's nice to meet you, Tsubomi-san!" Yumeko exclaimed and hugged Nanami which caught her off guard. The other girl awkwardly hugs her back.

"Ryota Suzui."

"H-hello..."

"And Pikachu. I think you already know her but she can be grumpy most of the time."

"It's Mary Saotome!" Mary corrected her.

"Told yah," she told Nanami and smirked. "Let's all have lunch, shall we?"

The five of them happily walk together towards the school cafeteria. It is a little bit overwhelming for Nanami but she's very happy that she's finally eating her lunch normally. No more Jun Kiwatari stealing her lunch, no more housepet treatment from her classmates. She hopes that all four of them would become her friends, real friends.

After a few minutes of chitchatting on their way to the cafeteria, they reach their destination which is now full of students. All eyes darts on them, more specifically on Tamara, as they emerged from the entrance. It was then followed by a deafening silence all across the place. The only thing that can be heard is the hurrying footsteps of housepets getting away from their schoolmates who treat them as a slave.
