Chapter 16: Good Girl

"Where's Ikishima-san?" the Student Council Secretary inquired as soon as she entered the Student Council Office. Midari's the only one absent, well except the Student Council President of course.

"Bathroom," Yuriko answered. "Anyway, It's been a week since the President left, Igarashi-san. Are you sure she didn't tell you the reason why?" Yuriko asked Sayaka during their Student Council meeting.

"I'm afraid she didn't tell me anything," Sayaka replied.

"Oh, c'mmon! I'm sure the President would have told you out of all people!" Runa added.

"However, she did order me to do background research on both Yumeko Jabami and Tammy Edwards," Sayaka stated and gave each student council member a folder containing what she had researched.

"Yumeko Jabami appears to have a vast amount of fortune," she started. "Her parents are dead while her older sister Souko, her only living relative, is confined in a university hospital's special ward for a long time now. She's the one covering her expenses with the huge amount of money she had, in which I conclude, she earned through gambling alone."

"How about the other house pet?" Kaede asked.

"I'm still working on doing my research about her," the Student Council Secretary answered. "Based on the information I have gathered included on the folder, she lied on the student records she submitted to us about her real name."

"Her real name is Tamara Edwards," she continued. "Adopted by a couple named Sarah and John Edwards. They lived in a public housing apartment in Queens, New York."

"She studied with her adoptive siblings Zamantha and Zachariah at Sandy Hills High School who ranks 1st in Best Public High School in the State of New York and ranks 23rd in the whole  United States of America."

"S-she looks so different!" Yuriko commented.

"Meh, she's okay," Yumemi added.

"She doesn't strike me as someone smart," Kaede noted.

"Ha! You're just jealous that she had better grades than you," Runa joked. "Don't forget that she beat Sumeragi and exposed her cheating tactics."

"Still doesn't strike me as the smart type."

"She's an overachiever," Sayaka continued her report. "She was friends with basically everyone and joined almost every club, sport, and clique her previous school has ever had."

"Look, Yumemi-san. Her Tik Toks even had more views than your Yourtube account! Nyahahaha!" Runa said and showed a Tik Tok of Tamara with her former schoolmates.

"At least I didn't get expelled," Yumemi defended. She smiled at her colleagues but deep inside she wanted to tear her folder and throw Runa's phone. She's working hard to get a lot of views but somehow a transferee got a stupid Tik Tok with more views than hers.

"She got expelled from her former school," Sayaka added. "For assaulting her school's former principal but got admitted back after a week after she started a movement to oust the same principal who expelled her."

"What I find odd about her is that I can't find records about her 9 months before her transfer here and before she got adopted by the Edwards family," she said. "Anyhow, she stated in her introduction to her 3rd Year Hana Class that she actually lives here in Japan before getting 'sent' to the US and that she lives alone."
