Chapter 12: Genjutsu of That Level Doesn't Work on Me

"Nanami-chan!"

Nanami turned her head as one of her three former friends called her. They approach her with a smile on their face.

"We heard that you have revoke your housepet status!"

"We're happy for you!"

"Let's all hang-out together!"

She stared at their happy faces in silence. They have become her friends when she got admitted here and they're also the same friends who mocked and bullied her as soon as she become a housepet.

"I'm sorry but I don't want to," she apologized and walked away. There's no way she wanted to be friends with them again. She knew their true colors a long time ago already.

Nanami find herself walking alone. It is her first day of being a normal student again in this school after being a housepet for a long time. Before, she's serving either Jun's Kiwatari's circle of friends or her former friends while they gamble after school ends and when it's lunch, they'll eat her lunch that was made by her mother for her.

However, they didn't manage to eat her lunch earlier since the rankings are released during lunch time and she's with Tamara during that time. Being treated as a human being again felt new to her. It seems like she's dreaming yet it is all real.

She takes a turn around the corner when a familiar face from yesterday's gamble blocks her path. It's the Student Council Secretary, Sayaka Igarashi, who got tasered by her own taser yesterday.

"Tsubomi Nanami," she called her name in a serious tone and looked at her bag. "It seems that you're going home so early."

"Mind if you join me for a coffee?"

"Yo," Tamara called one of Jun Kiwatari's lackeys as she reached the 2nd Year Tsubaki Classroom. He frowned at her as soon as they saw him. Besides having a cast on his right leg, he's now wearing a housepet tag on his collar. He's the lower rank 100.

"What?!" she shouted at her.

"Chill, dawg. I'm not here to break your other leg," she told the injured lackey. "I just wanted to know if you have seen Nanami Tsubomi around. You're classmates, right?"

"That bitch."

Her blood instantly boiled as she heard what the injured lackey had muttered under his breath.

"Say that again, I dare you," she dared, her eyes narrowing as she looked at his lowered face.

"I said BITCH!" he shouted and aggressively removed his housepet tag from his neck to show it to her. "I become a housepet because of that bitch! Because of you!"

Tamara can't help herself but to laugh. It's another Mary all over again but this time it's a boy. "Well, what can I say? Karma's a bitch too, isn't it?" she emphasized.

"That son of a bitch Jun," he cursed. "I shouldn't have lend that bastard my 10 million yen," he then glared at Tamara.

"I'm already the lower rank 101st. I should'nt have believed him that he'll pay double the money I lend him! Fuck! I should've just donated it! I'm an idiot! Fuck! Fuck!" The lackey stomped his uninjured feet on the floor.

"At least you have self-awareness," Tamara told him with an optimistic smile on her face. "Unlike your jackanape of a friend."

"He's not my friend!" he shouted. "That bastard's the reason why I'm a housepet! All because of him, that Tsubomi bitch, and YOU!"
