It had been raining hard all day, a perfect weather for curling up in a ball and listening to mellow music. The cool air made Feli want to wrap herself in a blanket and drink warm milk.

But here she was, waiting for the cranky and old Xerox machine to finish up all the copies of the test papers that she printed. She was busy staring at the photocopier as it slowly spit out all the questionnaires. She understood the machine because if it were human, surely it would feel nauseous and gag with all the difficult questions in those test papers.

"Hey, I'm going home now. Are you sure you'll be okay here?" One of her co-teachers asked.

"I just want to finish this up since the second periodic test is fast approaching," Feli replied.

"Okay, bye then."

When she was packing her things up, she was surprised to see Leorie calling from the Quinz group chat on messenger.

"Hey," she said as she pressed the answer button.

After a few seconds, Leorie's face appeared.

"Hi, Feli!" Her best friend greeted.

"I thought you deactivated your account to focus on your review for the board exams?"

"Yeah. I just reactivated my messenger but not my Facebook account. My batchmates created a group chat in the hopes of making a support group and I didn't want to be left out," Leorie explained.

"Looks like it's just you and me. The rest might be busy," Feli said when no one else picked up the call.

"It's okay. I just want to say that I'm back on messenger for now and—"

Then that was when Terry joined the video call. "Oh my gosh! Are my eyes deceiving me? Is it really you Leorie?"

"Nah. It's my doppelganger," Leorie reacted sarcastically.

Terry just made a face and raised her middle finger at the camera. This was her signature move when one of them was being a smart-ass.

"So, how are you? It's been what? Almost a year since we didn't hear from you," Feli asked as she leaned on the backrest of her chair.

"Nothing new. Just busy studying for the boards. I rarely go out with, I miss the outside world," Leorie shared as she also rested her head on the back of her swivel chair.

"Where are you now anyway?" Feli asked because she didn't recognize her friend's background.

"In a friend's apartment."

"Rarely go out and miss the outside world, huh?" Terry said meaningfully.

"Hey, it's not like that. We're friends and we're studying together," Leorie defended herself.

"Studying, sure," Terry nodded.

Leorie just rolled her eyes at her then both Feli and Terry laughed. Felicia knew that Terry was only teasing their best friend. When Leorie said that she was studying, she meant that she was really studying. Leorie was the most studious among the Quinz.

"Whatever, girls," Leorie rolled her eyes again. "As I was saying earlier, before Terry interrupted me, the board exam is in a month. After the results are announced, let's hang-out."

"I totally forgot the date. Are you fully prepared? Do you need anything?" Feli asked.

"Maybe? I think I studied enough to pass the exam and I got all the things I needed. Thanks for asking, though."

"Don't you want to hang-out right after the exam? Why wait for results?" Terry asked, while she was kneading a dough of bread in her kitchen.

"Mommy and Daddy asked me to join them on a beach trip so I can't hang-out with you girls. Besides, I want to be with you when the results come out because if I fail, I don't want my parents to see my disappointment."
