For over an hour, Kaito had been reviewing the reports from the company's overseas branches. And when Yachiko-san gave him the report from the Philippine branch, he couldn't stop the smile that made its way to his lips.

He remembered Feli almost scolding him for transferring too much money for their lessons. He reasoned that they were on the call for almost five hours. Still she didn't accept. Feli would've transferred the money back, but Kaito explained that if she did that, she would have to pay for transaction fees.

After their back and forth reasoning, she agreed to keep the money. She said that it was a huge help for something that she was saving on.

"Also, I'll buy my younger siblings Christmas presents with the money. I'll tell them that the gifts are from you."

He found it endearing that Feli somehow included him in her family's Yuletide season celebration. Christmas wasn't much of a big deal in Japan. Sure, they have parties and gift giving. But compared to Feli's home country, the tradition here almost lacks the holiday spirit.

"I didn't know that a problem in sales in the Philippine branch could make you smile," Yachiko-san commented, interrupting his thoughts.

He immediately frowned and concentrated on reading the report. "If there's a problem there, I think I need to fly over to check myself."

His secretary gave him a slow clap. "Oh, what a very hands-on president you are."

"Thanks. Now you can make some adjustments with my schedule so that I can fly over there."

"Did I say hands-on? I was wrong. You are about to micromanage. Please finish reading the report before you make some decisions."

After reading the entire report, he didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that the slight problem was actually solved.

"It's good to know that the branch manager was able to deliver the expected output. It would be a shame if he couldn't handle such a minor problem."

"Yes. As you said, a minor problem, which doesn't need your attention. They're in the holiday festivities there but here, it's hell in December."

While most Japanese business companies' fiscal year ended in March or April, for their company, it was December. This was the time where his employees would try to beat the deadlines and would attempt to reach their quotas.

"I know. I was just thinking that I could go there to visit as the president."

Yachiko-san nodded. "Of course, you can conduct surprise visits. But, not now that we are in the middle of the fiscal year end."

Before he could state his argument on the matter, his phone rang. Only his mother would call at business hours. And she was the only person allowed to disturb him while working.

"Toto, sorry to disturb you while working. But I need to discuss something urgent."

"What is it?"

"Your aunt just invited me to have a Christmas celebration. You know that Aya still has classes so I can't bring her with me. Can you look after her?"

"Sure. Until when?"

"Once winter vacation starts, I'll ask your brother to accompany Aya and fly there. He won't have a problem with that since its winter break. Both of them could have vacation in my sister's house."

"Wait, fly where?" He thought that his mother was only talking about some of her cousins who lived in Osaka.

"The Philippines, where else? You know that your aunt Marielle is living there."
