Chapter 27

A warm yellow light wakes me as the sun shines through the windows, I look beside me to find myself alone in bed, a thought occurs to me all of a sudden and I cock my head at it, I didn't have a nightmare last night. This interests me slightly but I'm not too surprised, I have brief periods where I don't have a nightmare. I scent the air as I sit up and am greeted with the Rowans scent as well as an undertone of mine, an approving growl rumbles in my chest. I sift through his scent to pick up the smell of a fry up as it cooks and my mouth salivates expectantly. I leap out of bed, dashing into the closet to grab some clothes before entering the bathroom, closing but not locking the door like I usually would. I wash quickly and am out only five minutes later. A knock sounds from the door just as I finish putting on my bra and underwear.

"You know you don't have to knock, this is our room" I chuckle opening the door to the bathroom slightly.

I watch through the crack as Rowan opens the door, his mouth opens to say something but he pauses when he catches a glimpse of me through the door. His eyes start to swirl with hints of black as he growls deeply. He slides the tray he was carrying onto the drawers beside the door and marches towards me, my eyes widen with alarm as I stumble back a little, he pushes the door open properly and he scours my body from head to toe then back up, lingering on my breasts for a moment before locking his eyes with mine, his eyes soften slightly at the fear in my eyes but I can see the turmoil in his eyes too. He steps closer and wraps his hands round the top of my arms lightly, pulling me into his body, he growls lowly beside my ear.

"If you don't want me to lose it, I suggest you cover that sexy body quickly" He growls, lust and desire coat his voice, making me shiver slightly.

His hands fall from my arms and I dart past him to get to my clothes, quickly yanking my black jeans on and then the black top with 'Girl on fire' in red. I also shrug my leather jacket on as well and Rowan turns to me as the clothing stops rustling, he rolls his eyes at me.

"Well at least that's a little better, not much though, you still look very sexy" he whispers as he passes me.

My heart quickens at his words, but I take a calming breath and return it to normal quickly before I follow him out. Rowan picks up the tray and places it on the bedside table, it's piled with bacon, eggs, fried mushrooms and fried bread, he also brought two glasses of orange juice, I smile with appreciation and amusement.

"I had been hoping to give this to you in bed but clearly you had other ideas" Rowan chuckles and I offer him a half grin.

"Thanks baby" I say as I sit down on the edge of the bed, snagging a strip of bacon.

Breakfast doesn't last long and barely five minutes later It is completely gone along with our drinks, I ate most of it although Rowan is starting to put away more food now. I go to stand up but Rowan pulls me down and lays me back on the bed, hovering above me, he plants his lips on mine and we kiss passionately for a moment before I push him away with a fond smile and sit back up.

"As much as I'd like to stay, things need to be done. We need to sort out the ceremony and then after that we need to trial them. I have a training session with gammas in..." I pause as I look over at the time and cringle lightly. "Five minutes, great. I have to go. How about you get Sapphire and go to my office, you two can start drawing up plans for the ceremony. I will join you in around three hours."

I don't wait for a reply but dash out of the room, I slip out of the house and jog over to the training field where the gammas are already there, waiting for me. I slow to a stop a few metres in front of them and they stand to attention before me.

"Hey guys, sorry I wasn't here yesterday. I'll assume you practiced on your own, yes?" I ask them, raising my eyebrow with mock sternness.

"Yes Alpha."
