Chapter 39

"AHHHH!"

I sit bolt upright at the sound of screaming, my senses running high as I try to figure out what is going on.

"Sapphire" Cana giggles "Stop it"

My eyebrows furrow in thought before coming to the conclusion that Sapphire must be tickling her. I groan and flop back down with my arm over my eyes as I relax, my heart slowly returns to normal. An arm wraps around my waist and I lift my arm slightly to look at Rowan, he returns my gaze with a soft smile which I can't help copying as I take in his messy hair and sleepy eyes.

"You okay?" he asks quietly, not fully awake yet.

"Yeah, I just wasn't expecting to hear Cana screaming at..." I pause to look at the clock "6:25"

"Is that really the time? We should get up" Rowan says as he rubs the sleep dust out of his eyes.

I hum in agreement and swing my legs over the edge as I throw back the covers. Rowan groans as he rolls over, shoving his face into the pillow. I snicker at him as I walk over to the closet, I grab a deep purple tank top, dark blue workout shorts and some underwear from my drawers as I go to the bathroom. I change in there and use the loo quickly. Stepping back into my room I let out a small laugh as I see that Rowan has buried himself in our covers. His head pops out at the sound and a small grin adorns his face, I just shake my head at him and go to leave the room.

"Hay where are you going?" he calls as he more or less stumbles out of bed.

"To sort out what I've got to do today."

"And what is it you have to do?" he asks with his head cocked to the right.

"Well I have to train the gammas, I then need to have a meeting with the pack and explain what happened and later on today I have to call my sister" I list off forgetting momentarily that I haven't told anyone about her yet.

"Your sister?" Rowan questions a look of confusion settles on his face. "Ruby, you don't have a sister, you're an only child."

"Yes I am aware, my sister isn't related to me biologically, we are soul sisters and our wolves are actual sisters" I tell him, clearing up the confusion.

"Soul sister?" Rowan voices, I smile amusingly at him, he looks utterly lost.

"Yes. Aurora Blackmore, the new Alpha over in Washington is my soul sister. The moon has blessed us with each other, knowing we would need one another at some point. We are sisters" I declare, pride filling my voice.

"Well, that's interesting to say the least. Let's go get sorted so we can get the day rolling, the pack are becoming anxious not knowing what happened" Rowan informs me.

"I can imagine" I reply with a deep sigh.

I move out of the door swiftly closing it behind me as I walk down the hall to the stairs, I can hear Cana and Sapphire talking downstairs, clearly trying to be quiet, I roll my eyes at that, do they forget I have extremely keen hearing.

"What are you two doing up already?" I question as I round the corner into the kitchen. "And pray tell why you screamed. I nearly had a damn heart attack."

"Sorry Red, I was tickling her didn't realise she would react like that" Sapphire answers looking down guiltily.

I wave her off as I slide onto the island where breakfast has already been placed ready to be eaten. The spread consists of pancakes, waffles, hot cross buns and toast as well as a variety of spreads like butter, Nutella and jam just to name a few. Grinning I take a slice of toast and using one knife I spread Nutella across it, leaving a few gloopy areas where I piled it on a bit thick. I then take a couple of pancakes and spread golden syrup over them.
