Chapter 29

The next day Maylana is up and about and the IV has been taken out. They bring in a huge piece of meat and the wolves all dig in, I curl up in a corner and think to myself. Olcan comes over and nudges me, I look up at him but don't move.

"Are you okay?" he ask quietly, concern lacing his voice.

I shake my head.

"What's wrong?" he asks lying down beside me

I flick a piece of hair out of my face and then look over at Maylana and her pups who are slowly making their way over to us as well. I stay silent and he begins to prod me with his nose to try and make me smile.

"Come on, tell me what's wrong?" he says.

"Ruby, is something the matter?" Maylana asks now beside us.

Olcan and Maylana stare at me expectantly and I sit up with my knees drawn into me, I look down and take a deep breath.

"I'm pregnant" I whisper not looking back up.

It's so silent that I have to look back up and I see their expression. Maylanas jaw is dropped and she in a state of shock. Olcan has a look of shock, wonder and thoughtfulness on him.

"We knew this was coming though. He wanted me to get you pregnant, at least it means he won't make us do it again" Olcan says although he sounds miserable.

"I guess but what does he want with a hybrid and what will he do to it? I don't like where this is going and I don't want it to get hurt" I growl already protective of my child.

"I won't let him touch it. It sounds weird saying this but that's our child and he won't hurt it. Not while I'm around" he growls standing protectively.

"Well I would say we have 5 months to find out what happens but, as it's a hybrid it very well might be shorter" I inform.

"Well looks like we're going to be here a while" Maylana says suddenly.

"Maylana, I'm so sorry" Olcan says nuzzling her neck affectionately.

"It's alright, you had no choice." She says nuzzling back.

"Trust me Maylana we won't be here long, I'll get us out of here, I'm good at escaping places" I say determined.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Olcan asks suspiciously.

"You asked before what happened to make me like this" I say sighing. "I'll tell you now"

A couple hours pass as I fill them in on my lovely life, the entire time they were both staring at me with shock and growling here and there.

"Oh my Goddess, you have been through so much. And to get landed here after being free for only a few years. I feel so sorry" Maylana says rubbing herself against me.

"Thanks, don't worry. I have a plan" I inform positively.

"Maylana, your pups can't see yet, they will take 2 weeks until they can see properly. We will have to stay here until then. But once they can see we will make our move. Till then I will see if I can scout the place. I will probably get in trouble but hey, he can't hurt me too bad without risking the baby."

"Sounds like a plan to me, I will try to protect you and Maylana as much as I can." Olcan says protectively.

"Trust me I can look after myself. I'm going to go back to training myself whilst we are here as well so that will be fun" I grin.

They nod and I just as I'm about to get up the door is unlocked and Mister Idiot strolls in and looks towards us huddled in the far corner. He goes to come closer, leaving his men to guard the door, Maylana nudges her pups towards me and then stand in front of me and snarls at him. He pauses looking taken aback but then bares his teeth and comes closer, Olcan leaps in front of Maylana and me and growls lowering himself into an aggressive stance. Mister idiot stops and growls back threateningly but Olcan doesn't take the bait and stays put.
