It had been in 2270, since Lord Richard William Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory had seen Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford, the daughter of Lord Walter Clifford and his wife, Maud de Clare and she had two brothers, Lord Roger Clifford, and Lord Robert Clifford, both brothers succeed their father to the Barony of Clifford and he married Lady Isabella Berkley and they had a son, Lord John married Lady Elizabeth Percy and they had a son, Lord Thomas Clifford who married Lady Anne Mortimer and they had Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford in 2252.
Lord Richard Willliam Carey met Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford in a dance at her finishing school in 2268 and at the dance she was sitting alone, and no one asked her to dance.
Lord Richard William Carey couldn't understand why one had asked Lady Henrietta Rose to dance, so he walks up to her, and he bows, and he introduces himself "I am Lord Richard William Carey and would you like to dance Milady."
Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford answers, "I would love to dance." and Lord Richard William Carey leads Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford out onto the dance floor, and they dance every dance together.

Lord Richard William Carey asks Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford "Why hasn't any gentleman asked you to dance?"

Lord Richard William Carey and Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford start to court each other in 2268 and Lord Richard William Carey promises Lady Henrietta Rose Clifford that when she turns 18 and he turns 20 that he will marry her.
Two years passes by in 2270, both Lord George Frederick Carey and his son, Lord Robert Frederick Carey pass away and Lord Richard William Carey becomes Duke of Bedford Territory and faithful to his word he travels out to Clifford Territory and he is handsome and gallant in front of Lord Thomas Clifford, Baron Clifford he asks Lady Henrietta Rose to marry him, but when Lord Thomas Clifford hears that Lord Richard William Carey is the great-great-great-grandson of Lord Patrick William Howard through his granddaughter, Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard and Lord William Carey.
Lord Clifford looks at his daughter, Lady Henrietta Rose and he tells her "The decision is yours to make but I would rather you not marry a relative of Lord Patrick William Howard."
When Lord Richard William Carey explains " I am Duke of Bedford Territory and my father was the great-grandson of Lord Patrick William Howard and his granddaughter was Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard."

Lady Henrietta Rose is torn between her love for her father and for Lord Richard William Carey but at the end she decides that she doesn't want to hurt her father and she turns down his marriage proposal.
