The Request From Lord Andrew Charles Howard
Lord Andrew Charles Howard writes to his second cousin twice removed, Lord Richard William Carey and he asks him for permission to travel to Bedford Territory to call upon Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell that lives out in Bedford Territory.
Lord Richard Williiam Carey receives his second cousin twice removed request to travel out to Bedford Territory and when Lord Richard William Carey reads the request, he answers it " I have to seek permission from Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell if it is alright for you to visit her and if she agrees I will grant you the permission to travel to Bedford Territory but I ask that you conduct yourself like a gentleman."
Lord Richard William Carey travels out to Madame Boarding House and he walks up the stairs to Madame's Boarding and when Madame Valois sees it's Lord Richard William Carey she is pleased "What brings you out to my humble abode Lord Carey?" Madame asks.
"I have a request from Lord Andrew Charles Howard, and he would like to see Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell, and before I can grant his request, I must get permission from Mademoiselle Karissa that she wants to see Lord Andrew Charles." Lord Richard William explains.
"Mademoiselle Karissa is out in the garden. You will find her there. Just follow the path and it will lead you to the garden." Madame tells him.
Lord Richard William follows the path that leads him to the garden that once belonged to Monsieur Valois, and it is fashioned after the gardens of Versailles.
Lord Richard William Carey walks into the garden and he sees Karissa sitting in the garden reading and he walks up and bows to her "Good Day Mademoiselle Karissa. I have come with a request from Lord Andrew Charles Howard and he would like to come and visit you." Lord Richard William tells her.
"Why in the world would Lord Andrew Charles Howard want to see me?" Karissa asks, "I don't even know who he is but the presiding Duke's youngest son.""
"If you don't give him permission then I won't give him consent to travel to Bedford Territory." Lord Richard William states.
"I am leaving it up to you if you want to see him or not, but if you don't, he will become a real pest." Lord Richard William tells Karissa.
"I already see him as a pest and royal pain up my ass." Karissa tells him "I mean there aren't enough young women on Star Base 12." Karissa asks.
"I am afraid that Lord Andrew Charles and I share a similar opinion on the women on Star Base 12 and most of them are aristocrats and their father's looking for a husband for their daughters and wives for their sons." Lord Richard William states.
"It is the way of aristocrats that the fathers find husbands and wives for the sons and daughters." Lord Richard William states.
"I am not an aristocrat and in fact I am what you call a commoner in old English." Karissa states, "I am not even called a "gentry."
"I do believe many aristocrats married commoners." Lord Richard William tells her " It works out very well."
"I know that, Lord Richard William Carey. I am not in the marriage market for an aristocrat." Karissa states.
"When I marry it will be because the man gives me my daughter and I love him." Karissa explains.
Lord Richard William Carey is stunned when he hears that Karissa will only marry the man that will give her a daughter.
"Will you grant the visit?" Lord Richard William asks.
"I suppose so, but he better be on his best behavior or I will deck him." Karissa tells Lord Richard William " I will make sure he never has a chance to have any children."
"Lord Andrew Charles knows that Madame will inform me of any improper conduct, and I have the duty to inform his father." Lord Richard William Carey explains.
"I think he needs a good thrashing." Karissa tells him.
"I will inform Lord Andrew Charles. You have granted his request but it is limited to only one visit unless you say so." Lord Richard William states.
Karissa looks at Lord Richard William and she asks " Why haven't you married?"
"I haven't been able to find the right woman to marry. I guess I have resigned myself to being a bachelor." Lord Richard William tells her.
"What, you remain a bachelor. You are very handsome and I am sure that any woman would consider herself blessed if she married you." Karissa tells Lord Richard William.
"What about you Karissa?" Lord Richard William asks.
"I was supposed to marry a young man on Planet Earth before I lost my entire family along with him due to radiation poisoning. "Karissa tells him.
"Despite all the new treatments for radiation poisoning. It didn't work on everyone." Karissa states "my family and fiancé were some of them."
"I was to marry Roy in 2274, but he died in 2270 and it is the year that I boarded the USS Republic with 499 Post War Orphans, and we set off for Star Base 10 or 12." Karissa tells Lord Richard William.
"We planned to have a family together and name our first daughter, Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane." Karissa tells Lord Richard William "Now I have to find the right man to father my daughter, but I don't want marriage until I know that my child is a daughter." Karissa tells him.
"You are given the man a tall order Karissa, as no man can guarantee you a daughter on the first try as no man can guarantee himself a son on the first try." Lord Richard William states.
"I don't guarantee any man that I will marry him until he does give me my daughter." Karissa tells him " I will find out through an amniocentesis test if the child is a daughter or a son."
Lord Richard William raises his eyebrow and he tells her " You may never get your daughter."
"What about your Dukedom?" Karissa asks.
"I am afraid that will pass onto my nephew, Lord Henry Bourbon, my sister's son. "Lord Richard William states "Unless I marry then it will pass onto my child regardless of his/her sex."
Karissa is thoughtful but she doesn't tell Lord Richard William Carey what is on her mind and in heart and they spend time in the garden at Madame's Boarding House.
Finally, Lord Richard William Carey tells Karissa , "I will deliver your message to Lord Andrew Charles."
"He may be a Lord because he is the son of a Duke, but he is no gentleman." Karissa tells him " He better watch himself." and with that Lord Richard Wiliam bows to Karissa and she returns it with a curtsy and Lord Richard William walks out of the garden and back to his carriage and heads off to Norfolk Estate to give Lord Andrew Charles the good news that Karissa will receive him.
When Lord Richard William tells Lord Andrew Charles "You better watch yourself around Mademoiselle Karissa."
"I want you to be on your best behavior and conduct yourself like a gentleman." Lord Richard William tells him.
"Lord Andrew Charles. Must I remind you that you will no longer be on my territory and on Lord Richard William territory. You are subject to his laws and rules. "Lord Charles Andrew JR states.
Lord Andrew Charles is happy that Karissa is going to grant him the right to visit her out at Madame's Boarding House.
