Trigger warning. Death via lung cancer. Please don't read if it'll effect you negatively in any way.
3rd Person POV
Tears roll down Mullys cheek as he holds Josh's hand in his. His cold, pale hands, there was barely any color left in his face. With every movement of his body follows pain. Mully hated seeing him like this. He just wants the pain to end, but they both knew how it'll end.
He's been battling lung cancer for almost two years at this point. Things looked like they were getting better but they only got worse. Josh smiled weakly at his husband soon to be, rubbing his cheek with one hand.
"Don't cry my love, I've lived a great life. You have given me everything I could ever dream of. I'm so thankful to have you." Mully leans down and plants a soft kiss on his lovers lips. "I love you Josh. I love you so much. Please don't go..." Josh hums softly, rubbing Mullys head carefully. "Is Alana not coming dear?" He asks while looking down at the man crying in his lap. "She said that she was in America for a business deal but she would try her hardest to get here." Mully lays his head on Josh's shoulder, not wanting to let go of him.
"What do you plan on doing when I'm gone love?" Josh asks, shocking Mully and bringing more tears to his eyes. The lump in his throat keeping him from speaking. "Now now Mull, there's no need to cry. I'll still be here, maybe not physically but spiritually yea?" Mully nods softly. "But it's hard... I don't want you to leave. I have nothing if I don't have you." Josh points to a tiny box by the sink, "Bring me that box will you my love" He grabs the box and brings it to the man in the bed. He smiles softly while opening it. His favorite ring and necklace lay with picture of us.
Shakily Josh puts the necklace around Mullys neck. "I know the ring will be too small for your finger, so you can put it on the necklace. When you miss me, hold the locket in your palm and squeeze softly. I'll be there."
Josh plants a soft kiss on Mullys hand. "I love you Josh. I always have and always will. Save me a spot up there next to Juniper(Mully and Josh's close friend who sadly took their own life)"
Then as if it was timed, the machine to his left stopped beeping.
