Chapter 14

Lorenzo's POV

I was at the base working on some things in my office when I get a call from Rosa telling me to meet her at our hospital.

She said that Brielle had passed out and that she was taking her to the doctors.

Once I got off the phone with her I made my way out of the base leaving Greyson in charge while I make my way over to see Brielle.

Rosa didn't go into detail about what happened, but it must have been bad if it ended with Brielle in the hospital.

When I'm in my car I went pass every single speed limit there was. The thoughts coming to my mind was that Nikolai got to her or something.

I have never felt this way towards a woman and it scares the hell out of me.

Love is a weakness, I mean my parents mean the world to me and I of course love my mother but the love my father has for my mother made him a weak leader.

Maybe he was ok with that but I can't be a weak leader, not when I have Nikolai and his crew to get out of the way.

I pull up to our family hospital and park my car and head inside once I am inside I spot the receptionist and make my way over to her.

"Mr De Luca, how can I help you?" She asked while looking up from her computer.

"I'm here to see my wife." I say ignoring the way her eyebrows raise in surprise.

I don't know why everyone is surprise when I tell them I'm married, it's not like it's even a real marriage but it was bound to happen considering I had to take over from my father.

After a few clicks on the keyboard she tells me that Brielle is in room 345.

One long elevator ride later I end up outside of her room and I knock slightly causing Rosa to open the door.

Once the door is open she steps aside so I could enter, once I enter the room and I see Brielle she is just sitting there being quiet while staring out the window.

"Is she ok?" I whisper to Rosa making sure Brielle couldn't hear me.

"I'm not sure."

"What do you mean your not sure, what the fuck happen?" I ask a little to rude this time but I have had a damn day.

Nikolai has yet again gain Intel on one of my shipments and interfered.

"We were having lunch together with Milo and she got up to use the restroom, me and Milo thought she was taking a little to long so I got up to go check on her, when I got there some guy had her pinned against the wall and was smacking her head against it."

What the fuck?

I look over to Brielle to see her in the same position as before, who would want to hurt her and did she know this guy.

"Give us a minute."I tell Rosa causing her to cross her arms and give me one of her looks.

"What?"

"Go easy on her." She then leaves the room leaving me and Brielle alone.

I make my way over to the edge of her bed and I take a seat.

I can see red marks on her wrist from what I am assuming was where the man must have had his grip on her.

"Who was he?" As I ask the question I could see her tense up. She looks at me and I can see the tears she's trying to hold back.

"Brielle, if you tell me who he is I will be able to help you."

"Please." Was all she said leaving me no idea on what she wants.

"I don't wanna talk about it."

I'm trying my hardest to not push it on her but if there is someone in her past that is still a threat to her I need to know.

"Brielle please tell me." I take her hand in mine and start to rub circles around her hand with my thumb.

I don't know what the hell is going on with me but I do know that she needs to feel comfortable before saying anything.

"H-He's my ex fiancée."

Her what?

I didn't know she was engaged before.

"Why would he hurt you?"

"Well the night that I saw your men in the alley was the same night that I ran away from him."

"Ran away?" I asked while trying my best not to jump to conclusions.

"H-He was abusive and that night he took it a little to far and something in me snap and I decided it was best if I left."

"How long?"

"5 years."

5 years she had to deal with that man and his disgusting ways of showing "his love", I don't like when any man puts his hands on a woman I find it repulsive.

Any man that would put his hands on a woman are clearly weak and don't know how to fucking grow a pair.

"What's his name?"

She looks at me as if she was not expecting me to ask that, I know we don't really talk or get along but I promised to not hurt her which also means I won't let anyone else hurt her.

"Lorenzo you do-."

"What's his name?" I asked cutting her off a little more demanding this time.

"James Peterson." She whispers, the fact that she also gave me his last name gives me the impression that she knows what I'm gonna do.

I get up and leave her room not before getting stopped by Rosa.

"Is she ok?"

"Yes, keep her company I have some business to do." I tell her while making my way out to my car.

I then call one of my best men to find my target and bring him to our base.

"Samuel I need you to get someone for me."

"On it boss." He says while I give him the name and then hang up starting my car.

This should be fun.
