As I lay in my bed I can't help but feel a pit in my stomach because of the news I have to share with my son today. From an outsiders point of view this may seem dumb, but Greg was part of our small family he treated me and Ana as if we were his daughters and he treated Leon like he was his grandson.
Now that he's gone there is a part from the life I made here in California missing. Greg was never just our landlord he was someone me and Ana had cared about and trusted dearly and it's just unbelievable that he is dead.
I slowly get up from my bed before heading into the bathroom to take a shower because I felt physically drained and I feel like a shower would help me a bit. As I finished up my shower I put on my robe before heading back into my room before getting dressed.

Once I threw on my outfit I then just pulled my hair up into a messy bun, I didn't bother with putting any makeup on simply because I didn't plan on going anywhere today and I really didn't want to put any energy in doing so anyways. Once I exit my room I then make my way to the kitchen where I was met with Ana drinking a cup of coffee.
"Hey." She greets me as I make my way over to the coffee pot with a mug in my hand to grab me some caffeine as well, lord knows I need it today.
"Hey." I look over at Ana to see that she was on her phone and looked a little frustrated.
"What is it?" She looks up at me and it almost seemed as if she was hesitant to tell me what was happening."
"Since Greg owned the building and now that he is gone there is some cocky business man buying the building and turning it into some sort of 5 star hotel and all resident's of the apartment complex have to be gone by February."
February, we are in October right now that is such short notice. It could take longer for us to find a place and we would either be living in a hotel temporarily or become homeless. Okay well maybe not homeless but that is beside the point. Leon was born and raised in this apartment it would be a huge change for him.
"That's not enough time." I say as I take a seat next to her while she shows me her phone screen.
"This is fucking ridiculous the man hasn't even been dead for 24 hours and this cocky bastard wants to fuck with his building... Fucking asshole." She began rambling but stopped as a knock came from the front door. I look at the door and then back at Ana and she sends a nod my way telling me to go answer it. Before getting up I took a deep breath and then made my way over to the door.
As I open the door my eyes are met with Lorenzo and I then look down to see Leon holding his hand but he quickly lets go as he sees me.
"Mommy!" He runs in my arms which causes me to lean down and hug him and a smile makes its way to my face at the feeling of having my son in my arms. I then looked up at Lorenzo to see that he was staring at us with a small smile on his face.
