"Whew. Hey, what's happening, man?" Billy said to the bartender as Mr. Adams walked up.
"Another scotch on the rocks for me, and whatever the coach is drinking. Not much of a gesture at an open bar, but I'll cover the tip." Mr. Adams said
"Well, I appreciate that. Let me just get a beer, please. I'm... I'm sorry we won't have your boy out there with us this week. Thanks." Billy said as the bartender gave him his beer.
"Are you now?" Mr. Adams asked
"Yeah, injuries. They're, uh, they're part of the game, you know?" Billy said
"Asher's the best receiver you got, and you let that south crenshaw thug rough him up during practice?"Mr. Adams said
"Whoa. Mind yourself now, Harold." Billy said, smacking his lips together.
"Just calling like I see it." Mr. Adams said
"Ok, well, thanks for the drink." Billy said and started to walk away but Mr. Adams kept talking, making Billy stop and listen.
"When they hired you, I had high hopes. Sure, your pro career was a bust. But, hey, that's the game. After two losing seasons and with another one on the way, guess you're just getting comfortable with losing." Mr. Adams said and Asher came running over after talking with a booster.
"Uh..." Billy said, starting to say something.
"That's enough." Asher said
"Oh, it's ok." Billy said
"Dad, I'm..." Asher started to say.
"it's all right." Billy said, trying to reassure Asher.
"Coach, I'm... I'm sorry." Asher said
"Why should you be sorry? He's the reason you got hurt! Him and his son!" Mr. Adams shouted, causing attention to them and everyone started to stare.
"What are you talking about?" Billy asked Mr. Adams
"Talking about how Jordan was behind that contested permit, and now your crenshaw boy is bringing his anger about the situation on our field, injuring my son!" Mr. Adams said as more and more people walked over to see what was happening and made Madison and Spencer both look at Jordan.
"Dad, will you..." Asher said and got cut off.
"Hey. That's right! Jordan Baker's the one that gave chatsworth the tip." Mr. Adam said
"Are you serious? You're the reason I can't go home at night?" Spencer asked Jordan as he just stared at him.
"Face it, coach." Mr. Adams said
"Oh, boy." Billy said
"That boy doesn't belong here, and neither do you." Mr. Adams said and pointed to Billy.
"Dad." Asher said, trying to stop his father from talking.
"Call me boy one more time." Spencer said walking over to Mr. Adams as Madison tried to stop him but Spencer kept walking over to Mr. Adams
"Dad." Asher said, pulling his dad away from the situation.
"That's exactly what they want you to do." Billy said to Spencer as he was pulling him away.
"He knows." Madison said standing by Spencer.
"You know what? You know what? I'm done walking away." Spencer said to Billy
"Shh, shh, shh. Ok." Billy said, trying to calm Spencer down.
"I say we show these Beverly Hills boys what we're made of. Let me play both ways, coach. Come on. Please." Spencer said and Billy looked over at Mr. Adams.
