After Madison's night out with Jordan she returned back to Crenshaw where she was in her room on her phone when she heard a knock on her door and Spencer walked in.

"You know a person usually waits for the come in after they knock on someone's door," Madison said

"My bad," Spencer said as he sat at the end of her bed.

"Hey sorry, I can't come to your ceremony tomorrow I am sure you'll do good on your speech and just talk from the heart no one can take those words away from you," Madison said

"It's all good thank you, Maddie," Spencer said looking upset not about her not coming but something else.

"You alright?" Madison asked Spencer and he just followed up her question with another one.

"You ready for tomorrow?" Spencer asked Madison

"If I am being honest I am on my last straw before completely breaking down and I know I've been saying I am okay but deep down it hurts and I kinda feel guilty," Madison said

"Why?" Spencer asked

"Well, last time I spoke to Shawn we didn't really leave off on a good note," Madison said

"Well you know me and him didn't either," Spencer said

"But it's different for me you know like seriously before his funeral tomorrow I literally have to go speak to his daughter and tell her everything is going to be okay but the truth is I don't know if it is were only sixteen Spencer and we're gonna go bury our childhood best friends tomorrow how can I look that little girl in her face and tell her everything is going to be okay right before her dad's funeral," Madison said trying not to cry right then in there.

"Because your strong Madison you've always been the strong one when it comes to us like when dad left and you knew you just watched me play that last football game with a smile on your face cheering me on you waited that whole game and until mom told me to show your true emotions we were kids," Spencer said

"I knew Mom wanted you to have that last game. Thank you Spencer I needed that." Madison said wiping her tears.

"I've been having these memories about the past recently and they all go back to Shawn telling Tyrone, Brandon, and all these different gang members that I had something else to do so couldn't hang with them," Spencer said

"Spence he never had a person like that when he was younger people in this neighborhood always pushed him toward that life whether they were telling him to like Brandon was or just telling him that was who he was just like a bunch of old folks do around here and we were too young and to damn late to see that," Madison said

"You think if we knew it would have made a difference?" Spencer asked

"No I don't but I think deep down we did and that's not our fault we were just kids trying to ignore it in search of the good in Crenshaw," Madison said as Grace walked in.

"Y'all need to get some sleep we gotta busy day tomorrow y'all need to be well rested," Grace said as Spencer got up.

"Your right good night family love y'all," Madison said as Grace and Spencer both left her room.

"Love you too," Spencer said from the hallway.

"Love you too baby good night," Grace said as she closed Madison's door.

"Spencer James' rare talent doesn't justify his Prima Donna attitude. " Wait. Who is this jerk?" Layla asked Spencer after reading a tweet.

"Somebody with a lot of followers," Spencer said

"He doesn't even know you," Layla said and got back to reading.
