—-IN THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM—-
Madison and her teammates are at practice. The sound of sneakers squeaking and balls bouncing echoes in the large space When suddenly Coach Foster blows her whistle.
"Alright, team! Let's run some drills. Emily, you take the lead." Coach Foster told Emily since she was the team captain
"Got it, Coach. Okay, everyone, let's start with some passing drills. Madison, Jade, you're with me." Emily said as she grabbed a ball and the team started to divide into groups of threes
"Ready when you are," Madison said
"Let's show them how it's done," Jade said stretching
"Quick passes, keep it moving!" Emily said as she passed the ball to Madison
"Nice pass, Jade!" Another one of their teammates Lexi said after Jade caught the ball
"Here it comes!" Madison said as she passed the ball back to Emily and she caught it
"Good job, everyone. Now let's move on to shooting drills. Pair up and take turns." Emily said said
"Let's see who can make more three-pointers," Jade said as she paired with Madison
"You're on!" Madison said grinning
"Keep your form, Madison. And Jade, follow through with your shot." Coach Foster said as she walked around observing each duo
"Ugh, almost had it." Their teammate Megan said as she shot and missed
"Don't worry, you'll get it. Just keep practicing." Madison said as she shot and made it
"It's just about your form," Madison said
"Nice one. My turn." Jade said as Coach Foater blew her whistle
"Alright, bring it in! Good hustle, team. Let's wrap up with a scrimmage. Madison, you're captain of one team. Emily, you're captain for the other we'll start in five." Coach Foster said
"Let's go, team! Ready to win?" Madison asked grinning
"Bring it on, Madison," Emily said smiling
—-IN BILLY'S OFFICE—-
"Coach King can do that? Just not let me play after I earned it?" Spencer asked
"I'm not the coach here," Billy said
"So, what, I'm just supposed to stand there? What do I do if another recruiter asks?" Spencer asked
"You're gonna say you're injured and that you can't play," Billy said
"Come on, man. Ain't no way." Spencer said
"Yeah. I'm sorry, Spencer, but you did really well yesterday, and the scouts will remember that. But if you end up suiting up, then people are gonna ask questions, and even though you did nothing wrong, those questions are gonna end up being marks against you." Billy said
"How is this fair?" Spencer asked
"It's not, son. It's not fair." Billy said
—-ON THE STREETS OF BEVERLY HILLS—-
"Look, I know it sucks not making the cut, but, I mean, you just disappeared on me," Olivia said
"Wasn't just the 7-on-7," Chris said
"Are you gonna tell me, then, because if you don't, I'm gonna think it's me," Olivia said and Chris said nothing
"Oh, it is me," Olivia said
