"Here we are. The Beverly eagles are seconds away from a devastating loss to Culver City, the last-place team in the division. An upset today would cripple the chances of Beverly making the playoffs." The announcer said as the referee blew his whistle for the other team to kick the ball and so they did.
"And here's the kick." The announcer said as the crowd cheered for the other team but then the ball the player from the other team kicked flew straight to Spencer's hands and so he started to run to make the touchdown passing others players going to the end of the field.
"What we got? What we got here?" Billy asked through his headset as Spencer kept running down the field with the ball as his teammates tackled anybody who even got close to him.
"He cuts left." The play-by-play announcer said
"He gets the rock, and he's loose." A different Announcer said
"OK. OK. That's my man." Billy said watching Spencer run down the field dodging the other team's tackles.
"He's at the 50, the 40. He's got one man to beat." The play-by-play announcer said
"Giddyap, daddy. Giddyap!" A player from the opposite team told Spencer as he tackled him to the ground right as Spencer made the touchdown making the crowd cheer.
"And all the way down to the Culver 20-yard line. Spencer James with an electrifying return." The play by play announcer said.
"My man. That's how you do it, young man." Billy said as some of the team gathered around Spencer and congratulated him on the touchdown.
"Offensive line, head out there. The offensive line, head out there." Jordan told the team as they ran back to the field Spencer started to walk over to the bleachers with his hands out and Olivia shook her head no.
"Hey, I'll be back okay," Madison told Olivia and Layla
"Okay," Olivia said as Madison walked off
"What's that about?" Layla asked
"His friend Coop was supposed to be here," Olivia said
"Oh. Well, too bad she missed it. He looks good today." Layla said
"Don't," Olivia said
"What?" Layla asked
"The last time you tried to play matchmaker, I ended up in a hot tub with my almost brother," Olivia said
"He's not your brother," Layla said
"We both know that you trying to set me up with Spencer is more about you than it is about me," Olivia said as Layla's dad and his girlfriend China walked up.
"Hey, Princess," JP said making Layla get up to hug him.
"Hey, dad. You made it." Layla said hugging her dad.
"Mm! How do you feel?" JP asked
"Good," Layla said
"Yeah?" JP asked
"Yeah," Layla said
"OK. Hey." JP said to Olivia
"Hi. How are you doing?" China asked Layla
"Hi. How's it going? This is Olivi.." Layla said when she stopped herself when she saw that China decided to sit next to her making JP scoot over.
"Oh! You're gonna sit here. Cool." Layla said
—-Meanwhile on the field—-
"That brings up third down. Adams looked open, but Baker couldn't get him the ball." The play-by-play announcer said
