The Combine

"You ready for the combine?" Billy asked a man as he dapped him up

"My man." The man said

"Good to see you," Billy said

"Good to see you, too." The man said

"You been well?" Billy asked

"Yeah, yeah." The man said

"Jordan, Spencer. Come here, boys. Come here right quick." Billy told the boys making them both come running over

"I'd like to introduce you to a good friend of mine Damon King. We go way back, back to when I used to beat his ass in the NFL." Billy said making Damon and the boys laugh

"Oh! Oh, your memory always been that bad?" Damon said as Billy laughed

"It's Coach King now, fellas. Wideouts, Angeles Southern University." Damon told the boys

"Jordan Baker. Nice to meet you, Sir." Jordan said extending his hand for Damon to shake and he shook it

"Jordan. That's right. Man, the last time I saw you, I'm pretty sure you was in diapers. Your dad said you got a rocket for an arm, huh?" Damon asked

"Excited to show it off, Sir. I've always wanted to play for the Wolves." Jordan said

"Hmm," Damon said as he shook his head understanding

"And this right here.." Billy started to say as he put his hand on Spencer's shoulder getting cut off by Damon

"Spencer James," Damon said

"Yes, Sir," Billy said

"Oh, yeah. We know who you are. Beverly's finest. Man.." Damon said making Jordan look down

"Crenshaw's own, actually," Spencer said

"Well, you're lucky you moved to Beverly. Otherwise, you might have missed the first two combines, young man." Damon said

"Don't sleep on Crenshaw. We may not have these fancy facilities, but a lot of dudes there can play." Spencer said

"OK. I will keep that in mind. So, you ever considered Angeles Southern for college ball? Damon asked Spencer

"Y'all got one of the best football programs in L. A," Spencer said

"And it's close to home. And I send at least two guys to the league every single year." Damon said

"OK, easy, easy. The combine hasn't even started yet. You're already in the picture. You know the game. All right. Spencer's gonna wait for the recruitment process to play out before he makes any commitments." Billy told Damon

"Listen, don't wait too long. I only got a couple of guys graduating at receiver." Damon said

"So, you talking, like, what, a couple scholarships?" Spencer asked

"Nah. Talking one," Damon said making Jordan raise an eyebrow surprised

"Oh, wow," Billy said making Spencer laugh surprised

"Right. Well, I appreciate the love, but, like Coach said, I'm keeping my options open." Spencer said then tapped on Jordan signaling to him to walk off

"Nice to meet you," Spencer told Damon as Jordan waved as they both walked off

"Come on girls huddle up huddle up!" The coach yelled to the girls on the court making them all run toward her

"Girls that is it for today as you know we are ending practice early for the combine I would love to see you all showing support for the boy's football team by helping set up for the combine." Coach said
