biological siblings were completely out of the picture for kayama. sure, she had siblings when she was with her adoptive parents, but they didn't exactly care for her, nor were the biological. for togami, he had a bunch of half siblings, 15, who were exiled to a commoners' life when they lost the togami heir to him.

late one night, around 11pm, they were still awake, watching tv. kayama was jabbering on about something, togami quietly listening. a murder mystery documentary was on in the background, as always.

kayama stopped talking when she saw someone; they were short, no taller than 5'5. they were brunette, glasses like togami's. the person looked to be 12 or 13, maybe 14.

"why're you up?" togami asked.

"do you have some secret child i don't know about?" kayama asked togami.

"he could be my dad. basically raised me," the random kid replied.

"well, i never introduced you to my brother, james."

"what?"

"yeah. i have a little brother, he's been hiding in here for about eight years."

kayama looked back between her husband and technically brother in-law.

"but didn't the whole togami family tree die in the killing game?" kayama questioned, stunned.

"i was in another game, two actually. kind of like the one you two were stuck in. pretended to be a girl," james said.

"byakuya, why didn't you tell me?"

"i thought you'd be mad, like, to the point of divorce mad."

"i'm not mad, how old is he anyway?"

"22."

"so he's been here since he was 14?"

"pretty much."

"yeah, when you're not here, we throw awesome parties. banana party, that was my idea. we hang out in the basement a lot. he helped me clean my room last week, i already trashed it," james said.

"we spent hours on that!"

"oh, he also shot me in the finger."

"byakuya did what?"

"oh yeah, so uh, when you're gone, some days i do archery, it's a great pass time. he wandered outside, i warned him, and he walked past me anyway and almost got his finger chopped off."

kayama looked like she'd just seen a ghost.

"well, you learn something new everyday, i'm going back to bed."

-

"why, that was an experience," kayama blatantly said.

"he's writing a book. two, actually. never published the first one," togami added.

"i didn't know you still kept in contact with your siblings."

"only him, no one else talks to me, i don't talk to them. i guess they're still salty that they didn't win a billion dollar business."
