Of course, it would be the bubbly, social, Aoi Asahina that would go and throw a party. Everyone knew that if they didn't go, they'd probably be called a jerk, so even the people that didn't want to go went anyway. Somehow, Kayama was able to sneak her personal phone into the school, meaning she could talk to her friends out of school. If she didn't have any cameras in the area, that is.

Kayama's Group Chat: The Three Tiers of "Class"

Kayama: Hey, sorry I haven't gotten up to date with the chat. Someone else died.

No response. Kayama turned off her cell phone and went over to the snack table, everything coming straight from the kitchen. She put her phone in her away and went over to the table.

Surely enough, Kayama had been socializing to some extent; visiting the tables, and socializing with her friends, but she wasn't her usual self.

Just then, her phone rang.

Noria: Oh no!!!! Who was it?

Kayama: Fujisaki.

Noria: Man.

There were no other responses, so she put her phone back.

You might think that Kayama would be the only one not being social; yet you're wrong. Everyone in Class 78 knows that if they didn't come to Asahina's party, she would never talk to them again. So, Kayama took matters into her own hands.

No one but her best friends, not even Asahina knew her biggest secret yet; she also liked Togami Byakuya. Before she had left for Hope's Peak, she had read a 600 page article on the Togami heir and how they're so wealthy; she had drawn an interest to the youngest member, Byakuya, just then. Knowing that Kayama had to lie for 14 years, she was pretty good at hiding her attraction.

Kayama spotted Togami sitting around, analyzing the room. She took the opportunity to sit as far away from him as she could; luckily, the two had been more friendly with each other since Fujisaki was killed, but still not friends.

She sat on the farthest and of the couch and looked at her perfectly manicured nails, waited for a couple of minutes, and then Asahina came over.

Asahina: Not enjoying it, Kayama?

Kayama: I am enjoying it, quite a bit; and call me Leah when you can.

Asahina: Oh yeah! Well, I'll leave you be. Enjoy your time!

She was so happy, yet knowing that two more of her classmates were gone.

When Kayama was just about to walk over to the snack table again, she noticed someone behind her.

Togami: You surely have been pal-ing around with Asahina.

Kayama jumped.

Kayama: Oh, yeah. We're pretty good friends.

Togami: [laugh] Girlfriends?

Kayama: No! It's only platonic.

Kayama could see Fukawa giving her a death glare. She gave Fukawa a look of "He came up to me."

Togami: Sure. Platonic.

Kayama: When did you decide to start being so nice?

Togami: Since right now, I guess.

A small smile crept onto Kayama's face.

A few hours later when the party ended, Kayama and Togami became actual friends. When they sat back down, Togami ended up letting Kayama talk about her largest interests and he asked her some questions along the way. Kayama knew that she would be able to make it through with him as her friend.
