Kendall's POV-
Julien has been locked away with his father for hours now. I was still nervous. His mom was sweet but Chase and Noah disappeared somewhere.
I was just kinda thrown in, by myself. Which wouldn't be that bad. If I didn't have anxiety.
I sat on the couch, just picking at my pants. Shelly was in the kitchen cooking. I felt rude if I just went to the room to sit. But I felt weird sitting here alone.
Her and I had talked for a little. Just getting to know each other. She was very kind, just as Julien said she would be.
"I think they've worked enough this weekend, how about you?" Shelly smiled, wiping her hands on her apron before heading in the direction of the office.
"Honey we are very-"
"No. No work. You promised. This isn't a discussion or a debate. Out. Now" Shelly said.
Soon enough both men made their way out of the office.
"If I see either of you working the rest of the weekend, there is going to be an issue." She said closing the office door. "Julien, son, your poor girlfriend has been just sitting here alone."
"Where's chase and Noah?" He asked.
"They ran off" she waved him off. "You're being very rude. You show up and immediately leave her to go work."
He came over and kissed my cheek, "I'm sorry"
"It's okay" I said quietly.
"I see you've stuck around" his dad said.
"Yes. Nice to see you again" I smiled politely.
"So, are you here for his money? Because I can assure you that-"
"Dad!"
"Harrison!"
His mom and him both yelled in his direction.
"What? When you are rich you have to ask these things." He said with a shrug.
"No. You don't." Julien looked pissed.
"I'm not," I chimed in. "with him for his money, I mean. Julien is a lot more than deep pockets. He's kind. And compassionate to anyone. I'm with him because I love him. He could be broke with nothing to his name, and it wouldn't matter to me. So no, his money is not why I'm with him."
"It's just a plus?" Harrison asked.
"No, actually." I knew Julien wanted to stop the conversation, but if I didn't answer these questions, his dad would just view me as the girl with his son for money. And that's not me. "With money comes more responsibilities. He is constantly working. Is always on the clock. So I wouldn't say the money is a bad thing, but I wouldn't put it in the good category. I am well taken care of, and I am nothing but grateful to Julien for that, but that also means that I'm not a first priority every single day in every single situation. Which can suck sometimes. It's worth it. To see his hard work pay off."
"You'd rather him broke?" His father asked.
"No. I'd rather him stress free. That's what I'm saying." I said.
