"Oh baby, I can't believe you're getting married tomorrow." My mom, Sharon, smiled.
"I am excited. Spending the rest of my life with Julian is like a dream. You raised that boy right, Shelly." I smiled to her.
"Put a little extra elbow grease in." She laughed, "He wasn't always so good. But we got him there. I honestly think you helped him become the man he is. A year and a half ago.. I love my boy, but he was almost unbearable."
"He's good to me. So good. Better than I could've dreamed for."
"They're love makes me sick." Noah said, sitting down with a fresh bottle of wine.
"Hopefully your dad is having fun." My mom laughed.
"Harrison can be a handful." Shelly sighed, "I hope he isn't too harsh on anyone."
"Craig can be just as bad." My mom laughed, "Don't worry. Boys will be boys. I'm sure they're having fun!"
We stayed up til midnight, drinking wine and sharing stories. It was nice. Julian, my dad Craig, his dad Harrison, and Chase all went to the hotel and were drinking there. Julian and I agreed to not text or speak to each other until the alter.
But fuck was it hard.
"I'll get up early and steam your dress. We have to be at the venue by 9am. Hair and makeup are coming at 9:30. Wedding starts at 1pm." Shelly reminded me, "I'll make sure everyone is ready. Your only focus is you. I don't want to see a single stressful look on your face."
"I'll try" I smiled.
"Reception starts at 2. We will do lunch slash early dinner at 4:00. After all the speeches. Then the night is open for fun and dancing." My mom grabbed my hands. "You let me know if you need a getaway car."
"Momma" I laughed.
"I'm joking." She kissed my head. "Get plenty of sleep."
"I will. Goodnight mom. Goodnight Shelly." I smiled. "Noah, come come."
"Sleepover!" He yelled and ran into my room. I laughed and followed him, closing the door as he climbed into bed, laying on my usual side. "Nervous?"
"Honestly?" I climbed in and looked at him, "Not even a little."
"Good. Sleep. You need beauty sleep."
"Are you calling me ugly?!"
"Not at all" he chuckled, "Just want to make sure you're rested for your big day."
I laid down and sighed content.
"Even if everything goes wrong tomorrow.. as long as I say 'I do', it'll all be worth it."***
The start of the morning was hectic. The moms got the car packed, making sure my dress hung correctly from the handle inside the car to prevent more wrinkles.
"Come." My mom ushered me out of the house.
We arrived at the venue and inside the small 'get ready' room. We passed by the workers setting out chairs and beginning to set up.
"Woah" I stopped to admire for a moment.
"Hurry before Julian gets here." Shelly grabbed my hand, pulling me in. "Change into your button up."
I listened and changed behind the divider. I had BRIDE pajama shorts and a shirt made. Shelly wore MOTHER OF THE GROOM, and my mom wore MOTHER OF THE BRIDE matching ones. Noah begged me to get his made to say MISTRESS but I opted for MAN OF HONOR, which he didn't argue with.
"Hi! You must be Kendall!" A girl with vibrant red hair came over, "I'm Gina, I'll be your hair today. And that's Julia, she's your makeup artist. While I work on you, she's going to be doing the other's makeup. And vise versa."
