Julians pov-
It was Friday- a week since Hayden had left. And three days since I've checked up on Kendall. I felt this duty, like it was my job to care for her.
"Sir, your father is here." My secretary came in.
"Send him in."
"Son" my dad smiled.
"What brings you by?" I shut my computer and ran my hand through my hair.
"It's my business. Which means I can come and go as I please. And because your mother is up my ass about seeing you. So I'm inviting you to dinner." He took a seat.
"I'm busy."
"Always are." He shrugged, "make time."
"I can't. Not tonight." I was planning on going to the club. It had been a week since I've done a scene with someone and I was going stir crazy.
"Too bad. Seven. I will have someone text you the details." He got up and walked out. I groaned and rubbed my face. Stressed wasn't beginning to cover how I felt.
My phone rang loudly knocking me out of my thoughts.
"Hoff." I answered.
"This is Lucas. The PI you hired."
"Right. How's it going?"
"I just arrived in New York. I have a general location but nothing solid yet. I'm just calling to update you."
"Okay. Call me with details whenever you have them." I hung up and grabbed my coat. "I'm out for the day, You're free to leave." I told Ms. Dillon before heading out.
I drove to Kendall's house and knocked on the door.
"It's open!" She yelled.
I walked in, "you really shouldn't just let anyone in your house. Lock your doors."
She peaked her head around the wall, "hi Julian."
"Any word from him yet?" I asked. I saw her cleaning supplies out and the floor looked freshly mopped so I slipped my shoes off.
"Nope." She popped the 'p'. "But I'm gonna take it as he's gone forever and move on."
"How's that going" I leaned against the wall.
"Poorly. But cleaning distracts me."
"Have you eaten?"
"Yeah. I had a sandwich." She went back to cleaning. "What brings you by?"
"Just stopping by."
"You don't have to. I have your number- if he calls I'll text you."
"Still gonna check in." I looked around. "Where's all your little stuff?"
"Up" she shrugged. "I'm not always the most responsible in little space so I don't go in it alone."
She sounded sad. I don't know what I would do if I just all of the sudden had to stop being a dominant.
"You don't have little friends?"
"I do. But I don't wanna burden their doms. So it's fine." She turned to look at me. "Shouldn't you be at work?"
"I left early." I shrugged. "You know you aren't a burden right?"
"Thank you" she said softly. She fiddled with the cleaning rag in her hand for a moment. "Are you hungry?"
"No I'm alright. I won't stay long, I have some plans tonight I should probably get ready for"
"Well come over anytime. I don't get company. I didn't realize how Hayden really shut me in." She looked around, "but uh, thanks for stopping by."
"Why don't you go out? Clubbing? Bar hopping? Find someone to take your mind off him."
"That's not my thing." She laughed, "is that what you do?"
"Honestly yes. But just go out for a drink."
"Maybe."
"I'll get out of your hair. Text me if you need anything."
Kendall's pov-
It was around 7. And I was sitting on my couch alone, drinking a glass of wine, holding a picture of me and Hayden.
I grabbed my phone and dialed his number again.
"This is Hayden- leave a message."
I ended the call and sighed. Maybe going out will cheer me up.
I called the only friend I had- Polly.
"Hey hey" she answered.
"Come out with me tonight"
"I can't. Be and Phil are having a date night."
"Dang" I sighed, "okay. Maybe next time."
"I'm sorry hun."
"No don't be. Have fun." I hung up and went upstairs. I opened my closet and grabbed a black dress.
It was a body fitting dress, came to right below mid thigh, and made my body look good.
I put it on and sighed, remembering I wore this dress for Hayden and I's anniversary.
I pulled my hair into a sleek ponytail and applied mascara. I grabbed my purse and phone before heading out.
The club was packed full of sweaty, drunk body's.
"What can I get you miss?" The bartender asked
"Umm, Long Island ice tea?"
"You got it. Alone tonight?" He asked as he made my drink. I nodded. "Pretty girl like yourself shouldn't drink alone."
"I prefer it" I smiled politely.
"Here. On the house." He winked and slid me my drink.
"Thank you"
The night picked up slowly when I ordered more and more drinks. As a lightweight, drinking on a mostly empty stomach wasn't a good idea.
I couldn't drive home.
I dialed the first number that came to mind.
"Hello?"
"Hi" I slurred.
"Kendall? Are you drunk?" There was a pause and loud music in the background on the phone, "it's 11pm"
"I can't drive home" I said making my way outside the club. The cool air felt good against my skin.
"Where are you?"
"Uh" I looked up at the sign, "The Filthy Skin?"
"Is your car there?" He asked. I sighed and closed my eyes.
"I'm tired."
"Kendall. Car? Is it there?" He asked sternly.
"Yeah"
"Alright. Stay put. I'll be there in 10" and with that he hung up.
I felt like I was standing against the building for years. The cold building felt so good on my skin, making me sleepier.
"Long island. Why are you out here?"
I opened my eyes and looked at the bartender, "drunk. Ride"
"You have a ride coming?" He asked.
"Mhm" I nodded and closed my eyes again.
"Woah," he grabbed my waist before I even realized I was falling over.
"Kendall" I looked over and saw Julian walking
Towards me. "I got it bud, thanks." He shoves bartenders hands off me. "Come on.""I drank too much" I frowned.
"I can tell. Where's your car?" I shrugged for an answer and he sighed. "Let's go. Can you walk?" I shrugged again. He lifted me up bridal style and put me in his car. "Don't throw up in my car. Got it?" I gave him a thumbs up and curled up against the warm seat.
