Hey guys! Well, the weekend is officially over which means that I won't have as much time to write chapters. Now, that's not an excuse but I'm saying that it will take me longer to write them and then find the time to upload them but please, keep calm. As usual, tell me if you see this story anywhere else but on Wattpad because I have not put this material anywhere else and if you wish to use some of it as a book review or something then please ask for my consent before doing so. This chapter is from Jayden's P.O.V so I hope you enjoy.
Chapter 3
Jayden
Beep. Beep. Beep. I threw my hand out and began my attempts to bat the stupid alarm clock off the table. Why did I put it so close to me? My over sensitive ears could pick it up if I'd set it at the end of the forest, behind out house.
All of a sudden, my mum threw my bedroom door open and stared at me.
"What?" I groaned, throwing my pillow over my head.
"What? What? How many times have I told you to throw that alarm clock out? I almost thought it was our alarm system and that we were under attack with the amount of noise that it was making. You better pray to God that Rosalind doesn't wake up as groggy as me!" And with that, she stormed out of my room, slamming the door behind her like a teenager. Well, I guess she never really grew up.
I replayed her last statement in my head. Yep, I prayed that Rosalind didn't wake up as bad as mum had either because it was Hell on Earth if she did.
Just as I threw the covers back, a scream tore through the air. "JAYDEN!!!!"
Shit. Well, there went my prayers. Thank you, God, for listening to me. Looks like I accidentally woke up Rose. But seriously? How much sleep can a 14 year old need?
I stumbled into the bathroom and checked my reflection in the mirror. God, I needed a shave. 30 minutes later, I was showered, dressed, shaved, and heading downstairs for breakfast.
A pair of forest green eyes stared at me with anger. "What in the Hell do you call that? It was 6:30. 6:30! I always stay in bed until 7."
I sighed and dropped my bag next to the blue breakfast bar stool. "So what? There's a 30 minute difference. It would mean you have more time on your phone. And I didn't mean for it to go off that loud." I replied, grabbing bread from the bread bin and putting the slices in the toaster.
"Didn't mean for it to go off that loud? That's the 7th time it's happened in 2 weeks! I need my beauty sleep." She nervously ran a hand through her long blonde hair.
I smirked at her. "Clearly."
She frowned and pouted. "Hey! What's that supposed to mean?"
"All right, all right. Break it up. You're setting a bad example for your sister." Mum called from the front room.
"Mummy, what's a bad example?" 5 year old Emily asked as she came into the kitchen.
"It's where someone does something naughty in front of someone that might copy them." She replied.
Em's eyebrows drew closer together. "Oh." She looked up and smiled instantly. "Jay Jay!"
"Morning Emily." I said as I was tackled by the strong girl.
"Thanks for noticing me, Em. Appreciated." Rosalind twirled around on her chair, texting on her phone.
"What does appreciated mean?" She asked, stumbling over the word.
Rose sighed. "I brought this on myself." She mumbled and set her phone down for a second. "Appreciated is where you are thankful that someone has done something for you."
