Hey guys so first off, I'd like to say that this chapter moves the story along faster because I felt like the previous chapters had all been a little slow. I wanted a nice big introduction to all of the characters but I realised I'm 16 chapters into a book and nothing has really happened. So, I decided that from now on, the chapters will move a bit faster. This one took me a while, enjoy.
Chapter 16
Jayden
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"What?" I yelled, tossing the baseball back into the air above my head and catching it again.
My bedroom door creaked open and Cal popped his head through. "Pardon, Jayden, because-"
"What would be rude, I know." I finished, quoting one of our science teachers. I sat up and threw the ball towards him.
He caught it a second before it was about to pound him in the chest and I stared at his hand, noticing how quick he'd caught it.
"So...what 'ya doing here?" I said, pulling my shirt over my head and looking for a cleaner one.
"My eyes!" Cried Callum, covering said eyes. "My poor and innocent eyes!"
"Innocent." I scoffed under my breath.
"Hey! I heard that!" He joked, laughing. "But seriously dude, dumb question; I'm always here." He threw himself onto my bed, ruining my straight sheets and thrashed around, getting comfy.
"It's my second home."
I found my white Superdry top, put it on, and then started looking for my leather jacket.
"Hey, I have an idea," I said to Callum, "why don't you get your ass off my bed and do something useful, like helping me find my-"
"Leather jacket? Here." He reached over the bed, then thrust his hand towards me.
I stared at it for a moment before taking it. "You haven't become some psychic in the past hour by any chance have you?"
"Ha, no. Like you'd go into town without your leather jacket. I mean, let's be real here."
"Don't talk about my baby like that!" I said, wrapping my jacket around me even tighter.
"You'll upset him."
Callum scoffed and got up. "Don't tell me you're getting sentimental over a jacket, Jay?"
I grabbed his shoulder and steered him in the direction of the door. "Out."
I soon followed him and closed my door behind him.
"And where are you two lovebirds going?" Rose called from her room.
Her door was open so I could see her lying on her bed, Twilight book in hand.
"Ignore her." I muttered.
"Ignore me, JayJay and you won't have a room to come back to." She called joking.
"Yeah, yeah." I replied, turning to Callum. "Want to know how to cause a massive world wide argument?"
"Go on..." He replied, a bit unsure.
"Hey, Rose?" I sang.
There was the distinct sound of a book being slammed shut. Seconds later she was at the door. "Ugh, what?"
"Team Edward or Team Jacob?"
Her eyes narrowed as hands were placed on hips. Oh, shit got real.
"Edward obviously!"
"But I thought you didn't like vampires." I teased, smirking.
When she mirrored my expression, it didn't take a scientist to figure out that the next words out of her mouth where aimed to mess with one of us.
