Hey guys! I know it's been a few weeks but this chapter is extra long to make up for it. And, I'll even upload Chapter 13 by Sunday as well. Heads up, it's going to be from Jay Jays point of view. I can't wait. Oooooh it's gonna get interesting! Well, I won't keep you too long, in less you're one of those people who skip these messages (guilty) and just read the chapter. If you are, then hope you enjoy.

Chapter 12

Lexi

You know, the next time I have an essay, I'm not going to jinx it. That shit was hard as fuck.

I thought I knew everything, yeah, let's emphasise the word thought. Past tense. As in, not any more. And, boy, was I wrong.

I was up all last night doing this godforsaken homework and I may or may not have threatened my siblings once or twice to set them on fire if they interrupted my thought process again. It's not my fault though. I've never really been a religious person before, considering I drink blood for a living and I'd probably get struck by lightning if I entered church grounds, so how in Hells name am I supposed to justify my opinions on how religion hinders scientific research and start talking about embryos and a Max person or some shit? Sorry, I swear a lot when I get pissed off. Urgh, there I go again! I seriously should consider anger management class sometime. And speaking of class...

"Miss Moore?"

The nasally voice of my R.S teacher, Miss Kelp, rang out across the classroom making me want to bang my head against the table. Or better yet, break the legs off the wooden desk and stake myself. You never know, maybe I'll hand it over to the teacher and ask her to do the honours, seen as though, by the tone of her voice, she's clearly angry with me.

I looked up at her through closing eyelids. "Yes, Miss?"

A ruler appeared from nowhere and banged against the table, lightning quick, making me jump. The snap rang loud and clear as more than half the class jolted awake.

"Sit up straight!" She snapped.

I muttered a sorry under my breath and tried to conceal my protruding fangs.

My vampire senses where on high alert and I silently begged Miss K not to make any sudden movements. Because I'd been working on this assignment all night, I hadn't had time to feed, and this morning, I'd gotten barely an hour sleep before I had to shower and get to school, meaning that I couldn't grab a blood smoothie. Now, my vision was slowly turning red and my vamp senses where begging me to pull Miss K down, sink my fangs deep into her neck, and for me to drain her until she was nothing left but a cold, limp, empty blood bag.

I swallowed the feeling down and sat up straighter.

"Would you like to tell my what this is?" She asked abruptly, waving a piece of paper in front of my eyes, too close for me to focus on.

When I pulled back, however, I realised that it was my assignment.

"It's, uh, my homework." I replied.

She barked a short laugh. "Feeling sarcastic this morning, are we? Well, let's see how sarcastic you feel when you're in detention after school today."

A collection of 'ooooh's' echoed through the classroom.

I just shrugged my shoulders and slumped further down into the chair. What brought on this sudden attitude, you ask? Well, last night, I realised that I was drawing too much attention to myself. I was dressing up too much, being too social, and using compulsion within sight of everyone. I was careless. I realised that in order to fit in, I had to pretend not to know the answer even though I knew every one, not pulling stunts like Mr Greyson and dressing down a bit. I wasn't natural and I was sticking out like a sore thumb.
