Chapter 6

Lexi

"Ow!" I said, holding my head in my hands for the second time today.

That stupid bell! Why couldn't they just let us know when it was time for the next period? I mean, seriously? Why put me and everybody else through that much torture? Oh yeah, I forgot. They can't hear it like I do. Stupid humans.

I glanced down at my time table that I'd just pulled out of my back pocket of my skinny jeans. History. Perfect, I knew my history - even the ones that humans don't know - vampire history. I folded up my timetable and slid it back from where I got it.

"So you're the new girl everyone's talking about." A high pitched voice said next to my ear.

I glanced up at the blonde an inch or two taller than me. She was pretty - there was no denying that. She looked about 17 and had the curves I so desperately wanted. Two other girls stood behind her, one on either side. They were in the same red, blue and white cheerleader outfits but the one who had directly spoken to me was wearing a big, pink 'C' on the front which I imagined stood for 'Captain'. I'd read many teenage books before and the mean popular girl who would always pick on the new student was a blonde and they would be cheerleaders or head girls or class presidents but she seemed different.

"Yeah. I'm Lexi. I just moved from down south. Love your highlights by the way - they really frame your face." I said, completely honest, and watched her blush a bit.

"Thanks. I'm Trina and these are my best friends, Izzy and Kayla." Izzy was the one on the left with long, straight, light brown hair, hazel eyes and a smile that would make a guy faint. Kayla was the one on the right with short, black hair, pale green eyes and full lips. She was the smallest by at least 4".

"My sister's called Izzy. Well, Isabella, but everyone just calls her Izzy or Bella." I rambled on.

"Awesome. Well, we always like to make a new student feel welcome. We are friends with everyone in school apart from 4 or 5 because, well, we can't really say. But I hope you find some really cool friends to hang around with and if you don't by lunch time, come and sit with us if you want."

She flashed me a smile but all I could think about, when she mentioned 'friends', was Jayden and the way he kept looking at me. An involuntary smile appeared on my lips and they gave me a knowing glance.

"I think she's already found a friend, girls." Kayla mentioned looking at my glazed over eyes. "A very hot friend by the looks of it." She nudged Izzy.

"Umm..." I mumbled, looking down.

"Well? Spill!" Trina burst out.

"I wouldn't exactly say he was my friend but..." They all leaned forward, waiting for me to tell them his name. "He was staring at me all through form and -"

"He's in your form?" Izzy cut me off.

"Yeah." I cautiously said, wondering what that sudden outburst of energy meant.

"Well, tell us what form your in and we'll guess."

"11R." I replied and they all made high pitched 'oh' noises. They huddled around each other and began whispering, probably so I couldn't hear them, but my vampire hearing made sure that I could.

"I totally know who she's on about." One voice said.

"Me too, it's that Barrack boy isn't it?" Another whispered and my breathing hitched.
