Hey guys! I know, I know - it's been forever. But, I thought I'd shake it up a bit and do Aaron's point of view. I just got massive writers block and I just couldn't decide whether to make Aaron's character a bad ass but a softie on the inside like the stereotypical guys or a laid back, easy going guy with a dark past. And I was stuck on it for so long! But then I thought nah, he can be laid back and easy going so I really hope you enjoy this chapter as it took me forever to write. Enjoy :)
Chapter 11
Aaron
I can't believe I saw her today. Well, I saw a long lost relative of hers today. But damn, did they look identical? I missed Lexi and not a day went by when I didn't remember the impatient look on her face right before I was kidnapped.
"Come on! Hurry up!" She said, sounding frustrated.
I laughed at how her cute little face had become lined with a frown but then sighed. "Why do you have to be so difficult Alexis?"
I quickly ran behind a nearby tree and checked if the box was there. Hidden behind the rose bush was the box with a rose engraving on it. I heard Alexis sigh and ran back to her before she got impatient and left. I stood before her nervously.
"Lexi, you're my best friend and I...I..." I trailed off, struggling to find the right words. "I want you to know that...I've...I...you..." A laugh escaped her mouth at me fumbling over my words and she went to take the blindfold off.
I immediately took her hands away from it, I wasn't ready yet, and I held them in my own.I took a deep breath. I was going to do it. I was going to tell her. After years of friendship, I was going to say something to change it.
"There's something I've wanted to say for a long time," I began, "...and it's really hard for me to say...I guess...I -"
I was stopped short when a blur flew by, put a hand over my mouth, and carried me far away from Lexi.
When the figure finally let go of me, I doubled over, gasping for air. "Who are you?"
The figure, as I found out, was a girl, probably about 17 if I had to guess. Her fire red hair caught my attention and her dark blue eyes seemed far too nice for her to be anything else.
"I cannot let you ruin my plan." She simply started. "And I cannot let you go back."
I stared at this stranger who had taken me away from my one opportunity to tell Lexi what I needed to. That reminded me...
I looked down but the box was no longer in my possession. Panic surged through me and I hope that I dropped it near so that Lexi would find it and figure the rest out for herself.
"What do you mean I cannot go back? What about my mother, my friends? What will Lexi say?" I spoke, confused.
She barked a laugh. "I am sorry, truly, but to save the many you must sacrifice the few." She sighed and looked at me.
"You are one of the few."
I started to back up, wide eyed. "You are going to kill me are you not?"
She stared at me for a moment before bursting into laughter. "No, no. I would rather not have to deal with another dead body tonight. I have organised for you to stay with a friend of mine. He saw this coming and offered to let you stay with him, something about it benefitting the future." She shook her head. "Crazy man."
A menacing smile caught my attention as two sharp teeth poked through and I instantly knew.
I gave a small smile. "A vampire."
