Hermione was getting ready for a girls night out when her Floo roared to life

She put down her lipstick and quickly made her way to the living room. She saw Draco dusting himself off and couldn't help but blush

Even though she told him to forget their kiss...

She couldn't forget the way his lips felt against her lips

She desperately wanted to forget what had happened. If her feelings got out of control. She knew she would lose him

And that was the last thing she wanted

She cared deeply for Draco

He was one of her best friends

But ever since that night...

Some deep part of herself wanted things to be different

Some part of her wanted to be more

And that was something she couldn't have

They were just friends

Nothing more

They could never be more than just friends

Because even though they won the war. Even though she was doing the work she loved

Everyone would always just see her as Hermione Granger; Muggleborn, friends to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley

Brightest Witch of the Age

Golden Girl

They still expected her to be perfect

To marry someone of a proper status

To not marry someone like Draco

Someone who had grown up believing in blood supremacy

She 'deserves' to be with someone who wouldn't have stood around as his deranged aunt marked her skin with the most horrid word known to wizardkind

Hermione could still see the secret glances. How they tried to catch a glimpse of the word MUDBLOOD carved into her flesh. That had been one of the many reasons why she had covered it

To make people stop looking at her

"Going out?"

She jumped when his voice broke through her fog. She blinked owlishly at him and then blushed when she saw the heat in his eyes

"Erm, y-yeah, Girls Night...why are you here?" She asked

"We'll I was going to try to persuade you into hanging out with me" he told her

She blushed and turned away from him

"Erm—"

"It's been so long since we've hung out together" he whined

He put his arms around her neck and Hermione's breathing picked up

"Malfoy—"

He pulled her into his chest and dropped his head into the crook of her neck

She felt her stomach doing flips with each breath. Hermione desperately wanted to pull away just as much as she wanted to lean into his warmth

She was about to give in and stay in with him when the fireplace roared to life and Ginny walked in along with the other witches
