maddy, max, and el all laughed while angel by madonna played on el's yellow radio. maddy's and max danced around el's room while singing the lyrics to the sing. el looked through magazines when she stumbled across one with ralph macchio on one of the pages. max chuckled, "oh, you found ralph macchio." max sat at the end of the bed.
"macchio?"
"yeah, he's the karate kid. hai-yah!" the three of them laughed, "he's so hot, right? i bet he's an amazing kisser, too." both of the brunettes gave a look to max. "hey, uh... is mike a good kisser?"
"i don't know. he's my first boyfriend."
"ex-boyfriend." max corrected.
"what? you two broke up?" maddy asked. el turned to her with a sad look.
"hey, don't worry about it. okay? he'll come crawling back to you in no time, begging for forgiveness. i guarantee you, him and lucas are, like, totally wallowing in self-pity and misery right now." max told the girl quickly. "theyre like, 'oh, i hope they take us back.'" the three of them laughed.
"god, what i wouldn't give to see their faces, right now." maddy exclaimed. el looked away, "what is it?" el only looked at her with a smile.
they set up the radio to make it static crackling, el had a blindfold over her eyes while max and maddy sat on the bed. "is this really gonna work?" el nodded, "holy shit, this is insane."
"max."
"yeah, quiet. i'm sorry." el kept quiet for a few seconds.
"i see them." max and maddy moved to the floor next to her.
"what are they doing?" maddy asked.
"eating." el stated in response. "they say we are 'species'."
