"when i got to the shore, i tried calling you guys, but, uh..." eddie took a long sip from the flask he held in his hand, "my walkie was busted, man. drenched. so, uh, i did the thing that i do now, apparently. i ran." he chuckled. diana banged her head against a rock.

"do you know what time this was? the... a-attack?" nancy stammered.

"yeah, no, i... i know exactly what time it was." he removed his watch, "my walkie wasn't the only thing that got soaked." he held it up before tossing it over to nancy who looked at it.

"9:27."

"same time out flashlights went kablooey." robin stated.

"same time diana passed out." max added.

"we're still on that?"

"which means what, exactly?" steve questioned. diana turned to dustin who was pacing back and forth.

"that, that surge of energy was vecna attacking... the turners." nancy answered.

"well, we're one step closer." said robin, "we know how vecna attacks."

"and where he attacks from."

"so now we just need to sneak into his lair in the upside down and drive a stake through his heart." max explained.

"if he even has a heart." diana muttered, standing up and dusting herself off.

"a stake? is like a vamp? is he a vampire?"

max sighed in annoyance, "it was a metaphor."
