"i can walk." melody stated, "i swear, i'll be careful." lydia exchanged looks with nancy who just shrugged, nodding her head slightly. she hesitated, but lydia stopped and let melody climb off her back.

the five of them continued their way up to the creel house, now that it was bat-free. when steve opened the door, none of them were expecting it to be covered with vines on the inside. "oh, shit." steve muttered. "that's not good."

"hey, those super powers of yours will really come in handy now!" robin whispered to the younger girl. melody shrugged and put her hand out but nancy stopped her.

"she needs all of her power for vecna. we can't risk it." nancy told robin. melody slowly dropped her hand.

"wait-" lydia started, but steve jumped into the house, and hopped around, avoiding the vines at all cost. "i was gonna say, i can radiate heat off of myself." she mumbled under her breath. "it's not as good as melody but it'll get the vines out of the way." she added on, turning to nancy who still looked unsure, "i forgot. hivemind. shit." if she burned the vines, she'd burn vecna. then the entire plan would go to shit.

"it's okay." nancy told her, "you all got this." she said to them all. lydia went first, following steve's exact jumps. robin followed, then nancy did with melody.

"so i can't hold you, but she can?"
