The Girl Next Door

Chapter 2

Dove' pov:

Tomorrow I have dinner with my new neighbor and I'm kind of worried, he looked really cute. I don't want to catch feelings for him, I mean what if he doesn't like me, all I was thinking about was all of the possible 'what if's'. When my mom talked about us bonding my stomach twisted and the fear of getting close to him and not being able to date him tore me apart. I mean I did just meet him an hour ago but something's different about him, I can feel something, it's like I've known him for my whole life.

I want to be dressed appropriately for tomorrow so I'm going to look for an outfit. As I looked through my closet for clothes I couldn't find anything that would fit tomorrow's dinner. Nothing looks good enough to wear in front of Asher. I finally decided on my brown dress that was skin tight.

Asher's pov:

It's the first day of school and I am terrified. I don't know where any of my classes are, and I don't have any friends to help me with anything. I got out of bed to choose what to wear for school. After rummaging through my clothes for what I think was 10 minutes I found a black t-shirt and a pair of jeans I found.

"Mom, I'm leaving for school." I yelled

"Okay honey, love you bye." I heard my mom say

"Love you too."

There were so many people at the school and I started panicking so I went to the bathroom. I washed my face but I was still panicking until I heard someone talking to me. He had blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing jeans and a white shirt with a red stripe on each sleeve of the shirt.

"Dude are you okay?" I heard him say

"Fine."

"Dude it doesn't look like you're fine, let me get you some water," and with that he left to get me water. 5 minutes later he came back and handed me the water. I finished the whole bottle and I started feeling better.

"Thank you so much, sorry you had to see that, it's never happened." I told him

"No bro you're fine, it was no big deal. I'm Lucas, Lucas Walker by the way."

"Oh, well I'm Asher Hall."

"Well then Mr.Hall what class are you headed to?"

"Not sure really, I'm confused. It's my first day and I just moved."

"Oh really?" he said, he looked really surprised "Well then come with me to the main office so we can find your schedule!"

"Alright."

Lucas seemed like a really sweet guy and I was really happy to have bumped into him. Maybe the school isn't as bad as I thought it was.

When we finally made it to the main office Lucas looked at me and told me to tell them my name.

"Oh, um, I'm Asher Hall."

"Okay we've got your schedule right here, give it a minute to print." I heard the lady say

"Thank you so much." I told her as I went to sit down in one of the chairs

"Oh and thanks again for bringing me here, wait shouldn't you be at your first period class?" I asked Lucas

"Oh no bro it's fine, I barely even go to that class anyway."

"Here is your schedule, don't lose it."

"I won't, thanks again". I told her as I left the room with Lucas and looked at what my first period was.

"Oh we have almost all of the same classes, we just don't have Math and P.E together!" Lucas told me and a smile crept on his face

"Oh that's great, we can go to class together!"

"Yes we can!"

"We have to go to class now so come on."

"Do we have to? I mean we could just ditch."

"What? No, come on get your ass here right now."

"Ugh fine."
