Chapter 30

Asher's pov:

What the hell was that last night? I can't believe that happened. Why can't Brody just let me go? He doesnt love me. He has never cared for me. I just don't understand. There is nothing I can offer him that no one else can. Can't he just get a dating app like everyone else. I need to know why he can't let me go. He has never acted this way with anyone or anything.

As I ended that thought I noticed Dove next to me. She stayed? I thought she would have been gone by now, it's 9 am. I tried to get out of bed slowly and I tried not to wake her. I moved and she screamed.

"AH,"

"I'm sorry, it's okay, It's me you're okay." I whisper

"Are you okay?" She asked me

"I'm alright, confused, but alright. I'm sorry if you were freaked out by Brody last night."

"No , no, don't apologize, it's not your fault he did that."

"Yeah I guess." I say "Should we tell Lucas and Ivy what happened?"

"We definitely should."

We call them and ask them to come over. We tell them what happened and tell them that we are both okay and no one was hurt. Lucas was furious. I managed to calm him down and tell him everything was okay. I just wanted to move past this.

*one month later*

Ashers pov:

I've been trying to forget about what happened but I just can't stop thinking, 'Why can't he let me go?'. I need to meet with him and figure this out. It would be good for him. I don't like why he can't leave me alone. I can't meet with him, it's a bad idea.

I went to get ready and then I impulsively texted him.

'Hey, wanna meet at the park? I need to talk to you.'

FUCK WHAT DID I JUST DO. I HAVE TO TELL DOVE, LUCAS AND IVY.

I call them and send them an SOS text.

About 2 minutes later Dove was at my door panicking.

"BABE ARE YOU OKAY," She said quickly running to hug me

"Well yes and no. I'll say why not when Ivy and Lucas get here."

"Okay but is it about Brody?"

I stayed silent.

"Oh boy." I hear her say

Lucas and Ivy got here 10 minutes later.

"WHAT DID BRODY DO." Lucas says almost tearing down my door.

I ignore him and start

"Okay guys so you all must be wondering what the SOS was. Would you all take a seat in the living room?"

"Okay we're sitting, what happened?" Ivy says

"Okay, so, don't kill me?"

"What. Did. You. Do." Luscas says

"Um, I sotra, Uh, I texted Brody to meet me at the park because I wanted to know why he cant let me go."

"YOU DID WHAT." Lucas yelled

"YOU KNOW WHAT HE IS CAPABLE OF." Dove followed

"COME ON DUDE." Ivy sounded disappointed

"It was impulsive and it's all I've been thinking about all month. I just wanted to tell you guys to be safe. I am going to meet with him. I need to know what's going on. Maybe he needs closure or something. He might leave me alone after this." I explain

"Alright well we are coming with you." Lucas says

"Okay, but he hasn't even replied

"Check," DOve said

'You changed your mind about me ;) sure I'll be there by our tree in 30 minutes'

I felt my skin crawl.

"He said he would be there in 30 minutes so let's go." I say

This should be interesting.

I get into the car with Dove, Lucas, and Ivy and we get on our way. They stay in the car while I meet up with Brody.

I was there 15 minutes early and I sat on a bench waiting. I got a text 5 minutes later.

brody: I'm here

me: Okay I'm on the bench, meet me there

brody: Alright

I sat for another 5 minutes patiently waiting for him to come.

"Hey," He says

"Oh hi, you made it,"

"Yeah, I mean you basically hate me, for the right reasons, so I was curious as to why you wanted to see me."

"What was that night?" I asked

"Oh, that's what this is about?"

"Yes, and don't act like it wasn't a big deal because it clearly was."

"I would rather not talk about it."

"What do you mean you dont wanna talk about it? You literally held a knife to my head. That will never be nothing. You know it's over between us and it seems that you understand that. So what seems to be the problem?"

"I- I just, it's a long story I don't know how to explain." he said

"Well I'm not leaving till you tell me what you thought you were doing."

"I honestly don't think you'll believe me."

"Try me."

"My dad said that if you broke up with me he would kill you. I care about you." He said

That really threw me. How do I respond?

"Just tell him you broke up with me. If he asks why just say you like someone else, maybe the bitch you cheated on me with."

"It won't work. He knows when I lie. Could you just pretend to be with me for like 2 days? You can come over and suddenly I'll cause a scene breaking up with you. We can do it in like 3 days."

"Fine but I won't kiss you or cuddle or touch you."

"Why not? Do you have a girlfriend or something?"

"Yeah actually, Dove. I'm with her and I don't want to because regardless I'll be uncomfortable." I tell him

"Alright, fine."

"Oh and Lucas has to come with me. As well as Dove and Ivy if she wants."

"Why?"

"I would feel more safe." I need him to understand that I don't forgive him

"Fine."

I walk over to the car and make sure everyone is okay with coming with me to Brody's place.
