Chapter 33

Dove's pov:

I got home and went to sleep but when I woke up I felt sick. I went to the bathroom, washed my face and brushed my teeth. I felt a little better. I did my make up and put on a cute dress. It was a plain black dress with spaghetti straps. I felt pretty.

I went to Asher's house at around 2 pm. When I went inside Lucas, Ivy and Avery were downstairs with Asher. We hung out for a little bit and talked.

"So, what's going on with you two?" I said looking at Lucas and Avery

"Oh, nothing, the kiss was a one time thing." Lucas said

"Yeah, we talked about it and we both agreed that 1 it would be weird for me to date my brother's best friend and 2 we didn't actually ever like each other." Avery explained

"Wait, they kissed?" Ivy said

"Oh that was a while ago, but yeah" Asher said

"Why does no one tell me anything?"

"We forgot to, sorry bae." I said

"Bae? I thought that was me." Asher said

"Shut up," I said kissing him

"Get a room," Lucas said

*5 months later*

Asher's pov:

I think I love Dove. I just feel it with her. I forget about all of my problems when I'm with her. She makes me feel happy and safe. I think I'm going to tell her tonight on our movie night date. I've been thinking about this for months and I mean we've been dating for 6 months now. Would it be weird? I don't think it would.

Since Dove is coming over tonight for a movie night date I'm going to get everything ready. I made sure I had popcorn on the table ready to pop when she gets here. I had to go out and buy candies. I walked to the gas station 4 blocks down my street. I got gummy bears, junior mints, and sour patch. I set them up on the kitchen table. I also got those really soft blankets.

I told my parents and Avery that Dove was coming over for a date night so they wouldn't be home. My parents went on a weekend trip and Avery went to her new boyfriend's house. She's been dating him for 2 months and I honestly don't trust him but whatever.

It's 6:30 and she gets here at 8. I went up to my room and took a shower. I changed into comfortable clothes and told her to wear comfortable clothes too.

I heard the front door open. A few moments later Dove came through the door. She was wearing my hoodie I gave her a few months ago and light gray sweats.

"Babe I'm here," She said

"There's my gorgeous girlfriend," I said going to kiss her

"What movie are we watching?" She said

"I'm letting you pick."

"Okay, oh and before I forget,"

"Yeah?"

"You need to put your cologne on the hoodie again, it lost your scent." She said

"But I sprayed it a month ago."

"Yeah and it doesn't smell like you anymore" She said taking it off

She was wearing a light purple sports bra underneath. She was so beautiful.

"Okay you can stop looking now, " She said

"Oh sorry"

"It's okay, I'm your girlfriend."

"You're just so breathtaking,"

"You know you could call me hot right? I won't be offended,"

"I was just being respectful,"

"Don't be," She said with a smirk

I really do love her.

I sprayed the hoodie and gave it back to her.

"Do you want me to wear it or not?" She asked

"Whatever you're comfortable with," I said

She decided not to put on the hoodie.

"Alright so what movie are we watching?" I said

"Can we watch 'After'?"

"Whatever you want,"

I put the popcorn in the microwave and put the candy in the living room.

"Okay the snacks are ready," I said

"Come on I made the couch warm," She said

"I'm coming, I'm coming"

We cuddled and started the movie. I had no idea when I would say I loved her.

As the movie went on it got colder so she put my hoodie on. I saw her grab the collar and sniff it, she smiled and said 'It smells like you.' She was blushing.

Once the movie ended I noticed Dove had fallen asleep. I carried her bridal style to my bed. I laid her down on the left side of my bed and tucked her in.

I wanted to practice saying 'I love you' so I kissed her forehead and said "I love you"

I saw Dove smile.

"Wait, Dove, are you awake?" I said panicked

"Mhmm," She said smiling. "But who cares about that, say the thing you said before that."

"I love you."

"I love you."

"Why did you say 'I love you' and not 'I love you too'?" I asked

"Because 'I love you too' sounds like you're just saying it because the other person said it, it doesn't seem like you mean it." she explained

"That's actually so cute," I said

I was still standing next to my bed so I laid down in my bed. She immediately shifted her body facing me.

"Hi," she said

"Hi,"

"So, you love me huh?" She asked

"Yeah, I guess so. Then again who wouldn't? You have the most gorgeous eyes, the hottest body, the most perfect personality, and you like me- sorry love me too." I replied blushing

She didn't speak, instead she became a little spoon and cuddled with me.

I woke up around 4 am and went to the balcony where we had our first kiss. I looked up at the stars. They were so pretty. I couldn't believe I had just told my girlfriend that I love her.

Dove's pov:

He did it. He told me he loved me. I couldn't believe it. He loves me? He loves me. It took me a while to register that. I love him. I love him so much. I finally told the man I love that I love him. I can't believe a man loves me. I thought no one would love me ever again. It's been a fantasy. My fantasy love life is coming to life.

I woke up and went to the bathroom to wash my face. I didn't feel good.

When I went back to bed I started thinking about Asher. All of this is because a boy moved across the street. That first day I saw him I liked him. If you told me I was dating him 8 months ago I would not have believed you.
