Chapter 4

Dove' pov:

Oh I'm so nervous for dinner, it's in 20 minutes and I really don't want to end up alone in a room with Asher, it would be so awkward. I got dressed and did my make up and went downstairs and waited on the couch.

"River, Sage, Tate, and Nova get down here right now." I heard my mom call, she sounded mad

"Sorry five more minutes." River said

"Okay well Dove, your dad and I will be waiting in the car."

"Alright, we'll be down in a second!" I heard Tate say

While we were waiting in the car I went on my phone to distract myself until my sisters finished up their makeup.

We finally made it to the house and this time a girl opened the door. I hadn't seen her before so I would assume she was Avery.

"I'm just going to take a lucky guess, you're Avery?"

"Yes I am, and who might you be?"

"Well I'm Dove, and these are my sisters River, Sage, Tate and Nova." I said pointing to them "My parents will be here any minute."

"Well it's nice to meet you! Asher will be here is just a second, come in" She said

Once I came inside I saw Asher's head poke through a door and come out of his room but he wasn't alone. He was coming out of his room with another guy, probably one of his friends I thought.

"Hey Asher!" I greeted him

"Oh hi Dove."

"And who might you be, if you don't mind me asking?" I asked as I looked over to the other guy Asher was with.

"Don't mind at all, I'm Brody, Asher's boyfriend" He said with a smirk on his face

BOYFRIEND??? SO HE IS GAY? WELL IM NOT SURE IF HE'S GAY BUT A PART OF HIM IS DEFINETLY INTO GUYS. NOW I CAN'T BE CAUGHT LOOKING AT HIM. THAT'S JUST GREAT.

"Oh okay that's nice! Nice to meet you, I'm Dove by the way." I said as I left the room to find River. River and I are close and I tell her almost everything. Now the reason I say almost is because I haven't told her anything about Asher.

I finally found River in the bathroom doing her makeup and told her everything. From liking him to him having a boyfriend.

"So you're telling me you like Asher but you weren't sure if he would like you like that but you just found out he has a boyfriend so that means he's into guys so you wouldn't have a chance because, well hello boyfriend, right?"

"Yeah basically."

"Okay here's what I want you to do- wait does his boyfriend look strong?" She asked me

"Yeah he looks like he can lift at least 200 pounds (90 kg)"

"Oh damn." She said with a smirk

"Don't even think about it." I told her with a serious look on my face

"Okay fine."

"Dinners ready!" I heard Mrs.Twist call us down

"Coming!" River and I say at the same time

Asher's pov:

'What the hell Lucas?' I kept thinking to myself. Dove looked off when she saw Brody and she looked even sadder when she found out he was my boyfriend too, I didn't know why though. I couldn't wait for the night to be over and for me to get mad at Lucas. He was so dead. And I don't think Brody liked Dove, as nice as he was acting. I could tell he hated Dove. When Dove left, Brody looked at me and said "Don't you dare think about becoming friends with her, and don't tell her anything I have said or done to you, are we clear, babe" making the 'babe' sound harsh.

As we were seated at dinner I was in between Brody and Dove. I had never been in a more awkward and uncomfortable position.

"So how's school going?" My mom asked me to break the silence

"Its going good, today you met a friend I made, Lucas"

"Oh Lucas was his name, what a doll. I really liked him." My mom said with the biggest smile

Brody looked extremely mad so he made an excuse to get us both out of there he said he had to talk to me.

Once we went outside he punched my arm.

"What was that for, this time didn't do shit wrong." I told him and dead stared him in his eyes

"Who the fuck is Lucas and why didn't you tell me about him." He looked pissed

"Lucas is a friend I made in school and before you jump to conclusions he is straight and is like a brother to me"

"HOW LONG HAVE YOU EVEN KNOWN HIM, 'LIKE A BROTHER TO ME MY ASS."

"Could you just calm down, I don't want to start commotion around here, you can stay the night and I'll explain everything." I said hoping that would get him to stop yelling

"Okay fine."
