Chapter 24

Dove's pov:

Today is my first day of work (Monday) and I'm fairly excited. I didn't really have a hard job, I just had to fill up the ice cream containers and put on a sweet smile at the cashier register. Simple right? I showered and got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast.

"Well you're up early." I heard my mom say

"Yeah," I said with a laugh

"Why is that?" she asked

"Oh right, I never told you. I got a job at an ice cream shop."

"Really? That's wonderful sweetheart!" she seemed super happy

"Yeah, I work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 to 3."

"Well then you should hurry before you're late, it's 7:45. Here's a granola bar to eat on the drive there it should be enough energy."

"Thanks mom, bye" And I left the house.

I got there at 7:55 and George was just staring at me.

"You were almost late on your first day." he said

"I know I know, sorry. But I'm here now." I said with a smile

"Get to work." he said, handing me my apron.

"You must be such a pleasure to hang out with." I say under my breath

"What was that?"

"Nothing." I say quickly

George left around 11 because he 'had to go somewhere' but I think he was just making an excuse to leave work. I got home around 3:20 and went into River's room to see what she was doing because I had nothing better to do.

"Sooo, how was the first day of work?" River asked

"Pretty okay I guess. The guy who hired me left at like 11 because he had something to do but I think he was just lying just so he could leave work. He literally never came back. A nice old lady also came and tipped 20 bucks because I looked like a sweetheart." I explained

"Okay don't get to cocky, anyways I was planning on going to the mall but I don't want to drive-" I cut her off

"Get in the car." I sighed

"Thank youuu."

We made it to the mall and it took an hour. Why did it take an hour you ask? Because she didn't want to go to the one near our house, no she wanted to go to the one that's one hour away and is very busy. No wonder she didn't wanna drive. She wanted to get some new makeup products because she was running out and also some new clothes. She didn't show me anything she got because she wanted to do a fashion show for me. She told me the total of every thing she got was 153 dollars so I paid for 100 of it because I'm not gonna let my little sister pay that much money.

We got home and I had prepared for the fashion show. She had a lot of nice tops but one was a little too revealing but I let it slide.

Asher's pov:

I woke up and got ready for school around 6. I wasn't in the best mood today and I was kinda rude to Avery when she offered to take me to school. I got to school and Lucas and Ivy immediately came up to me.

"Asher, todays the day." Lucas said

"Huh?"

"You're going to see Brody today... remember?"

"Wait, that's today?" I ask

"Yeah, I texted Dove and she agreed to come and Ivy knows."

"Okay so we all meet up at my house at 6:30." I said

They agreed and went to class. The day was pretty boring but I was anxious the whole time because I was meeting Brody.

It is now 7 and I'm waiting for them to show up. Dove got here first and Lucas then Ivy.

"Okay so everyones here. The park we have to meet at is the one Dove and I went on a date at, but the tree he wants to meet me at is on the other side and there aren't that many places for you to hide so let's go now so we can find a spot." I explained

"Alright so let's go, I'll drive." Dove said

We all got in the car, I took the front seat of course, and went to the park. Once we got there I showed them places to go and we found good spots for them around 7:30. There was a bench where Brody wanted us to meet so I just sat there until Brody showed up.

I saw him walking towards me and kinda froze.

"So you actually came?" He said in shock

"Yeah I'm here okay. What do you want? All I want is for you to leave me alone, that's it."

"Well, I just wanted to apologize." He said getting closer to me.

"Okay well then apologize so I could leave."

"I also have a question for you."

"What is it?"

"Are you dating that other girl? The girl that was at the family dinner."

"No I'm not, and even if I was there is no reason I can't because I'm single and my love life doesn't concern you." I explained

"So you are dating her."

"What no I said I'm not."

"So then you don't care about her?"

"I still care about her, she's my friend. I care about my friends."

"Bullshit. I know you like her."

"Okay now let's just say I do, why does that concern you? You need to fucking remember, I broke up with you. You're not my boyfriend anymore. I'm allowed to like others and date others."

"I still have feelings for you okay. I miss you so much. Baby please, take me back."

"No, now that's bullshit. First off, don't call me baby. Second off if you cared about me you wouldn't abuse me and if you miss me so much go to the person you were cheating on me with. They should remind you of me, and of the mistake you made. Go feel sorry for yourself because I am not going to stand here and listen to you." And with that I started to leave and go to the car.

"Don't walk away from me." he says, grabbing my hand and turning me to face him. He started to pull me closer and leaned in to kiss me.

"Ew get off of me."

"Don't you miss that?" he asked continuing to kiss me and trying to kiss me every chance he got

"No, I don't. Can you just fucking leave me alone."

"Okay fine, your loss. I'm an amazing boyfriend."

I started walking to the car and drove away. I had told Lucas that if Brody doesn't do anything too bad to wait in the spot they are until I text them. I made sure that Brody was gone and I texted them to come out and get in the car. We drove to my house and they just slept over at my house for the night because why not. On the way to school I could just stop by Lucas and Ivy houses to get their book bags.
