Chapter 21

Asher pov:

THE DATE IS TOMORROW I REPEAT THE DATE IS TOMORROW. THAT MEANS RIVER AND LUCAS HAVE TO HELP ME GET THE CAMPSITE READY. Shit I have school today. I didn't wanna get outta bed. I eventually turned over to my right to check what time it was. The digital clock read 6:50 am so I had about 40 minutes to get ready for school.

I got out of bed and went to take a quick shower. When I got out I brushed my teeth and did my hair. I didn't know what to do with my hair so I just put some water in it with a little product and hoped it would dry by the time I got to campus. I got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. No one was home so I just made myself eggs and went on my phone. It was about 7:15 when I decided to get in the car and drive to school.

When I got to school I immediately went to class, I didn't bother looking for Lucas because I would see him later. I finished all my class periods and surprisingly I didn't talk to Lucas once however I did see someone. You can already guess who that someone was, I didn't talk to him though.

After school Lucas and I walked to his house. We did our homework and then played some video games for 20 minutes. I told him I was gonna go get pizza and asked if he wanted pizza. He told me what he wanted so I went and got the food and came back.

While we were eating I decided to bring up the call I got.

"So Lucas, you know how Brody and I broke up." I said

"Yeah, what about it?" Lucas looked confused

"When I came out of the shower yesterday and checked my notifications I saw, um, a notification from-" I got cut off.

"Brody. What the fuck does he want." Lucas seemed so angry that Brody tried to contact me.

"That's the thing I don't know. He left a voice message and I wanted to listen to it with you." I explained

"Okay then play it." Lucas was very jittery

I press play and it starts

Asher, you can't keep running away from me you know. You can't get rid of me love. I will always find you. You better come to the park we went to next to our tree on Monday around 8. Don't bring anyone with you. I want to talk things out.

The voicemail ended with a long beep.

"Okay what the fuck do I do." I said kinda in panic

"I don't know but you sure as hell aren't going to the tree." Lucas said in a firm tone.

"Wait no I wanna go though, I wanna know what the fucker wants." I told him, I want to know why Brody wouldn't leave me alone.

"Are you an idiot or some shit? He will hurt you."

"Then I won't go alone, you can come." I told him.

"I'm very pleased that you think I am able to help alone, however I think Dove and Ivy should come too, I mean Ivy goes to the gym every other day and never skips."

"I don't wanna drag them into this though."

"Then dont expect to be going to the tree." He said

"Fine." I settled "But for now text River so we can go to the park and get ready for the date tomorrow."

Lucas' pov:

What the hell was Asher thinking? Going to see Brody, the man who abused him ALONE?!?! He literally didn't consider anyone going with him until I brought it up. I'm really happy that I got him to take Dove, Ivy, and I.

I walked to the park with Asher hoping to meet River there so we could put up the tents and stuff. We didn't want to get everything ready though. When we got there River was already there and was complaining about how she had been there for 20 minutes. We got to work by putting up the tents and we set up some of the things inside of the tent.

It was about 8 pm when we decided to go home. I walked Asher home to his house and then I went alone the rest of the way.
