Takumi quickly entered the room pushing Jack out of the way nearly knocking him over.
"Hey! Watch it!" Jack shouted.
"It really is alive..." Takumi stared in awe as the substance moved around it's small container like a snake.
"It is, as I said in the meeting." Jack approached the container. "I still need to do some more research on it before I can take anymore action, for all we know it could be dangerous."
"Yeah yeah, whatever." Takumi began to leave the room. "Just get to work on it."
As Takumi left the room Jack turned his attention to the creature.
"Mr. Valentine, may I suggest looking at a new sample? Since it's alive and well." The woman spoke up.
"Not a bad idea Jess." Jack placed his arms into slots with protective clothes and slowly cut a small piece off, the creature squirming and flailing in pain like a worm. Jack felt sorry for it, but orders are orders. He pulled down a separater before taking his arms out of the slots and putting on a glove and taking the sample out. He put it on a microscope slide and put it under a microscope, examining it.
"Well sir?" Jess asked watching Jack.
"Well... It seems like a normal organism... I don't see any parasite or such traits about it, it has a make up like a worm... A gooy translucent worm." Jack pulled away before putting the sample in a protective container and beginning to write in a log.
"So what's next?" Jess asked leaning over the desk.
"Well if all turns out ok, it will be all up to boss man Takumi." Jack was focused on writing.
"I see..." Jess seemed bored by the idea of content work and began to play around with a pen.

ELSE WHERE IN THE FACILITY

"So you're suggesting that if all the results come back safe, you want to see if it's possible to be used for military purposes to make some money?" A voice asked.
"Yes, exactly." Takumi said confidently. Takumi was in a video conference with members of the Transfurnetic board.
"And exactly how do you plan on doing that?" A female voice asked.
"Nanomachine technology, if we can use nanomachines to bend this thing to our will, we could create super soldiers with regeneration that takes place from the inside. We inject it into them like an ordinary shot." Takumi was trying to keep his confidence.
"And what makes you think that would work?" The woman asked in a stern tone.
"Well... I have the right man on the job, I'm sure he can get the job done." Takumi grinned.
"Well... Keep us posted, if this works out, it could make us millions." A middle age man said before ending the call.
"Oh don't worry, I will" Takumi got up from his chair and exited his office.

BACK WITH JACK

Takumi entered the room just as Jack was finishing his report. "Any progress Mr. Valentine?"
"Yes, after taking a new sample and carefully examining it. It turns out to be harmless and we can easily interact with it." Jack said happily.
"Good good! Tomorrow, I would like you to run some tests on it and how it would handle nanomachine modification." Takumi smiled.
"Of course, but I will need to make sure it is compatible with a sample." Jack said closing his folder and handing the report to Takumi.
Takumi took the report, "of course." Takumi left the room.
"Well... We better head home than, it is getting pretty late." Jack stood up but before he could say his farewell to Jess she was already running out the door to go home.
Jack sighed "How the hell did she even get hired here anyways..." Jack grabbed his hoodie and left making the long walk home.
The nex morning Jack showed up early to get a headstart. "Now let's see..." Jack took the sample he had taken yesterday and placed it on a metal pan before grabbing a small container with nanomachines in it. He took a bit of the nano machine and injected it into the sample which flaied in pain. It seemed to have grown a bit since yesterday. "Hmmm..." Jack watched as the sample flailed and resisted before going limp. "No good..." Jack was interrupted by the sample coming to life as the nanomachines were accepted by it's cells. "My god... The medical breakthroughs that can be made to help people... I need a test subject!" Jack ran out of the room and down the hall leaving the sample in it's metal pan crawling around.
