Jack was pacing back and forth as Cyrus sat watching him. Cyrus finally spoke up after a couple of minutes, "So whats the plan?"
"No fucking clue..." Jack was troubled by the discovery. "We can't just barge in there and fight him or report him... It may cause him to do something stupid like unleash whatever hell he has hidden away..." Jack sighed.
"Well our best bet is to dig for more informtion, try and find a way to stop it before shit hits the fan" Cyrus began thinking. "But where to start is the key..."
"I would say we break into the labs but security is always tight, it would take a miracle to pull it off..." Jack spoke with a defeated tone.
"Well... What if we broke into Takumi's house when he wasn't home?" Cyrus suggested.
"And risk getting seen and arrested? No thanks... There has to be something..."Jack rubbed his chin getting lost in thought.
"What if we find the old facility he worked at?" Cyrus said with an ounce of hope.
"Ya know that might actually work" Jack smiled, "You're a genius!" Jack quickly pulled his laptop out of his bag and opened it, returning to the article of Takumi. "Ah, here it is, it's not too far too, about maybe a couple hours away."
"Well let's get going than" Cyrus stood up from his chair, "Who's car are we taking?" Cyrus asked.
"Mine would be faster." Jack stated.
They headed out to the car and began the long drive to the location stopping about half way to take a short break and refuel.
"So what do you think we'll find there?" Cyrus asked taking a sip of his cola and handing Jack a coffee as he was refueling the car.
"Well I'm hoping we'll find some insight on what happened and how." Jack finished refueling and placed the nozzle back. As he did his phone began to ring, he answered it.  "Hello, this is Jack"
On the other end of the line was labored breathing followed by a raspy slow speaking voice, "Don't follow this lead... You won't like the results... And... May even turn out to be a nightmare you wont forget..."
"Huh? Who the hell is this?" Jack asked
The voice only breathed heavily before the line went dead.
"What the fuck?..." Jack mumbled to himself.
"What was that about?" Cyrus asked
"No clue, they said not to follow the lead or we might regret it..." Jack put the phone away and got back in the car looking over at Cyrus who was buckling himsel in the passenger seat.
"Creepy... You think we're being followed?" Cyrus asked curious.
"I doubt it... But something about that call isn't sitting right with me..." Jack began to think.
"Well don't let it bother you too much, it was probably some prank caller."
"Yeah..." Jack put the car in drive and continued the long drive to the location.
After about another hour they reached a run down building that was fenced off with a quarentine fence.
"Welp I guess that caller was right..." Cyrus said bumed out.
"We're going in, what do you mean?" Jack looked at Cyrus.
"What're you crazy? Who know's what fucked up shit we could catch is in there." Cyrus looked back with a what the fuck expression.
"What you think I don't have protective equipment in the trunk?" Jack scoffed.
"... Right..." Cyrus said still not pleased with the idea.
Jack got out along with Cyrus and they headed to the back of the car popping the trunk revealing some full face filtering masks tucked to the side. Jack grabbed two and handed one to Cyrus. "Here, this will protect from anything airborne."
Cyrus quickly put it on, "No gloves or anything?"
"No seeing as work provides that." Jack shut the trunk approaching the fence starting to climb over it."Come on slow ass."
Cyrus grumbled and followed closely behind jumping down behind Jack.
"Shit..." Jack said as Cyrus saw what he saw.
The building was run down and looked to have been abandoned for years, the glass doors shattered and the windows cracked. The earth slowly reclaiming the building by swallowing it with plant life.
"What the hell?..." Cyrus spoke in awe at the sight.
"This might get risky" Jack began to walk up the stairs to the front doors, pulling his phone out and turning the flashlight on. Cyrus followed behind and doing the same
Jack scanned the entrance hall, some of the light fixtures were falling down, some already fallen, some tiles from the floor and celing missing. "Yup this is gonna be interesting" Jack walked over to the reception desk and walked around behind it searching the drawers for anything useful. Upon opening the bottom left drawer he found some old papers and a rusty pocket knife. "Weird, didn't expect a knife to be here." Jack took the knife and papers, he pocketed the knife and began scanning the papers for information.
Cyrus kept scanning the hall feeling uneasy. "Anything useful?"
"Just vistor logs, nothing of note..." Jack put the papers back and approached Cyrus."Well our best bet for information would be to find some employee logs in the manager's office... Where ever that might be..." Jack said stumped.
"Well only one way to find it... Explore until we find it..." Cyrus said nervously.
"True, don't get too scared now." Jack chuckled and began walking towards a pair of double doors at the far end of the hall.
"Shut up!" Cyrus said loudly as he was flushed with embarrasment.
Jack walks through the doors walking into a long hallway that splits into a T at the end lined with offices.
Cyrus walked a little ahead and as he was scanning the offices and the hall he noticed a shadowy mass quickly vanish down the right hall. "J-Jack... Did you see that?..." Cyrus said nervously.
Jack came walking out of one of the offices with a folder of papers, "See what?" He asked approaching Cyrus.
"Th-there was something at the end of the hall... I-it went to the right..." Cyrus shook a bit.
"Ah come on it was probably nothing, But we'll go investigate just to ease your mind ok?" Jack began walking down the right scanning the offices for anything out of place as he walked by.
Cyrus followed closely behind almost hugging Jacks arm. Jack turned the corner to the right and could see at the end of the hall the sign for the manager's office.
"Well that find was easier than expected." Jack said happily picking up the pace.
Cyrus hurried to match Jack's pace, staying close by.
Jack tried to open the door only to find out it was locked. "Damn it..." He sighed, "Well the only place is the labs at the other end..." Jack turned to see a shadowy mass disappear through the lab doors. "The fuck?..."
"What? Did you see it?" Cyrus asked quickly.
Jack stared for a couple seconds in confusion before slowly making his way to the lab doors. "Maybe?..." He said confused entering through the doors to a long corridor of labs. Jack scanned the corridor and the labs that were to his left and right noticing the one on the right seemed off. Jack walked up to the door that was broken laying on the floor. "Whatever did this must've been one strong fool..." Jack said in awe stepping into the room and scanning it. Jack noticed an operating table in the center with dried blood and an unknown blackish substance. Jack approached the table looking over the dried fluids before noticing the blackish substance seemed fresh.
"Uhhh Jack... Th-there is something coming this way!" Cyrus shouted running into the room.
"Shit, hide!" Jack crouched down behind the table out of sight of the doorway, Cyrus quickly sliding in behind him.
Things were silent before a soft squelching like sound stepped into the room, slowly moving from the doorway to the table looking it over, falling silent again before leaving.
Jack whispered, "This is gonna be harder than I thought..."
