"You found a way deeper?" Jack asked Fenrir, they were back at the settlement of survivors in a meeting area.
Fenrir nodded, "Yes, it's also got signs of human life as well."
"Do you think there could be more survivors?" Jack began pondering the thought.
"No... As far as we know, there is one guy there. Seemed like a scientist." Fenrir closed his eyes and leaned against the wall.
"Well, if it's safe and there is only one person, a small team of two would be ideal to send down." Jack began thinking of who should go.
"Are you mad? You bring these two... Things here and expect us to just trust what they say!?" A survivor shouted who was one of the heads of the settlement alongside Jack.
"I trust them, I've known Luna for a while and if she trusts Fenrir then I see no reason to brush it off as a trap." Jack eyed the survivor.
"I agree with Jack on this one" Jason spoke up. "Without his judgements we wouldn't even be alive right now."
The survivor opened their mouth to say something but paused for a moment. "Fine..." They finally said.
"Then it's settled. I'm gonna go and investigate."
"Alone? Are you mad?" Steven quickly asked.
"No, I'm gonna bring Jason with me." Jack patted Jason in the shoulder.
"I still think even with just the two of you it isn't safe." Steven glared at Jack.
"We'll be fine, meeting dismissed, let's get this show on the road." Jack walked out of the makeshift meeting room.
Jack motioned for Jason to go in front of him, Jack looked back at one of the handpicked guards to watch the entrance. "Nothing comes in or out, got it?"
"Understood." The guard reaponded and took up a post watching closely.
Jack and Jason headed down into darkness that slowly opened up to a hallway with a door that had light shining in from it. Jason peered around the corner and motioned it was clear to go.
As they walked down the hallway they encountered some small common furnetics called Ratlings, they are small rat furnetics who are relatively weak and are easily taken out.
"There is a lot of the Ratlings down here... I got a bad feeling we may be in for a struggle." Jack sighed.
"We'll be ok, we always have been." Jason reassured Jack as they descended deeper into the halls of the lowest level.
They came to an auditorium sized room filled with monitors and a computer at the center of them where a single figure sat.
"Glad we finally get to meet face to face Jack... As well as you Jason." The figure got up and turned around to face them. "The name is Jessica, I am the one over seeing this experiment. I assume you're here seeking answers, are you not?" Jess tilted her head.
"We might as well get some while here. Why? Why are you doing this?" Jack asked sternly.
"Me? Oh please hun. It's not me, I'm merely..." She paused for a moment. "The eyes for someone else"
"What do you mean? Eyes for who?"
"Now, now, I can't tell you that, it would be a big spoiler!"
"Well you are gonna tell me, we aren't leaving without answers."
"Oh really now? Unfortunately for you..." Jess pulled out a syringe and examined it before injecting herself with it. "I have strict orders to say anything, and if I'm compromised... To turn myself and kill the one named Jack."
"What!? What are you doing!?" Jack shouted.
The woman began to groan in pain as she fell to her knees. She spoke between her labored breaths. "Glory... To... The... New... World... Order... God... Save... The... King..."
She screamed in agony as she slowly turned. The nano machines rewriting her very dna as the virus took over her body and began to work with the nanomachines to change her. She grew a sharp pointed tail and horns like a goat. She grew wings like a bat and her teeth became fangs like a demon. She laughed in pain and pleasure as she felt her own flesh mutate and be reborn.
"For the king of the new world order... Our god... I shall be the one to kill you! As the first born Bloodbringer!"
As their struggle began trouble stirred elsewhere.

ELSEWHERE

Steven was on the phone with someone away from eyes and ears. "That's right... Yes they took the bait... Even if she fails we still have phase two that will work no matter what... We'll bring ruin to their hope... I'm releasing them now... Yes... Get ready for the show Jeff... It's only just begun." Steven hung up and unleashed a horde of Furnetics. All the settlement heard before the attack was the screams of the guards outside as they were torn apart like tissue paper.

ELSEWHERE

Jeff stood watching a news feed of the gas attack, a large grin on his face as he sipped some whiskey. "Good... Everything is unfolding as planned. Soon I'll have killed two birds with one stone. Let the new world order rise! Soon! I shall rule over them! Make the world anew!" Jeff laughed with excitement. "The Takumi Empire shall rise! And it all starts with the city now blanketed in a gas form of the virus."

WITH GUTS AND CREW

Abby walked up to Storm and handed him a photo.
"Whats this?" Storm asked
"Take a look" Abby said "You wanna see it for yourself."
Storm looked at the photo. "It can't be... At the heart of the gas attack... But..." Storm's eyes swelled with tears.
