As the squad of rebel soldiers entered the abandoned town, all was quiet.
"Sargent, it's a little too quiet, don't you think?"
The Sargent leading the squad rose his hand up to stop the patrol. "Yeah... i want use to split, one team check the buildings, the other will sweep the outside." But before the Sargent could assign the teams they were ambushed by the 10TH who had been waiting for them.
"Fall back! Get to cover!" The squad began a swift retreat into a nearby building as a hail of bullets rained down on them." The Sargent grunted in annoyance, "how many injured!?" He returned fire.
"We lost two!" A private yelled as he posted his MG and began to lay hate.
In a nearby building a cloaked figure watched the conflict.
"They're rather hopeless..." the figure thought to himself. "Should probably help them out" he vanished from his watchpoint.
Squad began to fallback to the outskirts of the town as the cloaked figure ran by them.
"Huh? Hey! Civi! Fallback you idiot!" The Sargent shouted, but the figure ignored him ripping off his cloak as he continued to run. A flash of an RGB blade as a shockwave of sound caused all the bullets to ricochet in random directions.
"Just gonna stand there gawking? Come on, let's party!" The figure stood tall, he was one of the creatures, a friendly one. He had a full face visor that had a smile, his tail was like one long headphone jack and his ears had speakers on them as well as the back of his clawed paws. "By the way, the names Monofer. Nice to meet ya!"
The Sargent paused not knowing how to react before he saw one of the privates run towards the fight.
"R-right! Press the attack!" The rest of the squad rushed in taking cover, returning fire.
"Cover me, I'm gonna go in." Monofer used sound to propell himself up to a second floor balcony of a nearby house that had 10TH in it.
One of the 10TH fell backwards in surprise.
"Hiya! Sorry but I'm gonna have to ask you to stop being annoying, it's not very cool of you." Monofer stabbed the ground with his tail releasing an electrical current electrocuting the 10TH inside.
The Sargent watched in awe, "who is this guy?... I thought all those creatures were supposed to be hostile?..." he returned fire on a nearby window
The fight raged for only mere minutes before all went quiet, the ambush was fully wiped out.
Monofer sheathed his blade and approached the Sargent. One of the Privates aimed at Monofer as he approached. The Sargent placed his hand on the Privates barrel and lowered the weapon for him.
"Is everybody alright?" Monofer looked at the Sargent, his visor leds were a vibrant rainbow.
"Y-yes, luckily we didn't lose anymore soldiers." The Sargent was nervous.
"That's good" Monofer held out his paw, it had a speaker on the back of it, the speakers were playing a song at a soft soothing volume.
The Sargent hesitated before shaking his paw, the paw was warm and soft. "Why aren't you attacking us? I thought all creatures were hostile?"
Monofer let out a chuckle. "Not all of us, those of us who retained our humanity walk with our free will intact." He smiled, his leds reflecting the expression.
"We uhhh, we could use the extra hand with the 10TH, would you be willing to help out?" The Sargent asked.
Monofer thought for a moment before replying. "As long as I can DJ for your soldiers for moral support. Music is the life of all, it brings many emotions."
The Sargent considered the trade off. "I don't see the issue with it."
Monofer beamed with excitement. "Hell yeah! Let's get going!" Monofer turned the music up a bit.
"So what are the speakers for?" One of the Rebels asked.
"Well the speakers allow me to play music as I am right now but for combat they allow me to use soundwaves to fight among other things."
"What about your tail?" Another one asked.
"I can hook it up to things to amplify sound, manipulate electronics and discharge and charge electricity."
The privates continued asking Monofer questions as they secured the area.
"Spectre one to handler." The Sargent was talking through coms.
"Go ahead Spectre one." A voice replied.
"Secured the abandoned town. It was a trap, they set-up an ambush to decrease pur numbers."
"How many casualties?"
"Two, would've been more if not for a lone third party."
"Lone third party? What are you talking about?"
"Well... It's hard to explain..."
As the Sargent explained, Storm and the rest were listening in as they got near their destination. It was the start of something amazing for the Rebels they had gained a valuable alliance for the hardships to come.
