Dwight was in Gretta's house helping them with some of the wardrobe crates they had moved over from the castle. They wanted to do it outside originally, but the weather had been gray and wet all day. Gretta and Dwight were sitting next to each other on the floor of the living room, closer to the fireplace. They had a few wardrobe crates strewn out around them. Baldric was sitting in his chair going through a few items, reminiscing before pulling more out. Dwight had been a bit reluctant of opening the wardrobe crate in front of him. He winced as he pulled the chest open to reveal some blouses of Gretta's, along with some nightgowns. He released a deep breath of relief from his air filled cheeks. This time going through the crates, he knew what to look out for. As long as he didn't see anything green and black he'd be in the clear.
Gretta had set some armor and swords from some of the crates to the side. Dwight picked up the armor and looked it over. It looked like armor that would most likely fit him. He returned it to it's place as he looked at the swords. He unsheathed one of the swords a bit, to look at the decoration on the hilt. It consisted of what looked like a crescent moon as the guard and a golden sun on the pommel.
"What are these for?" Dwight asked.
"You could always use them." Gretta offered. "We did have a bargain to settle, did we not?"
"I'd have to start my training at the beginning again. Not like I was that great with a sword before anyway." Dwight said.
"He does make a valid point." noted Baldric.
"What say you, Sir Dwight?" Gretta asked, looking at him. "Would you like to train with me?"
"I don't see why not." Dwight shrugged. "Might be a good idea, even just for defense."
"It's a date then." Said Gretta.
"Uh uh uh." tutted Dwight waggling his finger. "I've told you, dates are-"
"-Less sword fighting and magic." Gretta finished his sentence with an exasperated sigh. Dwight gave her a bit of a smile and nudged her shoulder with his.
Gretta watched as Baldric got up from his chair and moved to his other crate, putting his back to both of them. Gretta put her hand in Dwight's before he could grab anything else out of the crate. She glanced in Baldric's direction to make sure he was still busy and gave Dwight a light peck on the lips. It was so quick and sudden, he didn't have any time to react. Dwight looked at her a bit stunned. He saw a small smile etch across her face afterwards, confirming she was definitely better today. She hummed along for a moment pulling a few other pieces of fabric from her box before she moved her eyes to him and felt her cheeks flush. Dwight smirked a smile at her and awkwardly reached past Gretta, looking in another wardrobe crate.
"Hey look what I found!" Said Dwight, pulling out Gretta's white silk dress. "We still need to have your ball, don't we?" Baldric turned around, his eyes lit up with excitement. "We have the Spring fling coming up." Dwight said to them. "I'm on the committee already. Our meeting for it is next week." Gretta gave him a smile. "We could always make it our second date."
"I would like nothing more." She said with a smile. "But.." She trailed "What of Mirabel?"
"You're right." Dwight agreed. "We do still need to make sure she has her ball." He sat there thinking a moment. "The Swine and Slosh tavern still isn't around, so I don't know about food. I don't even know about some of the entertainment. That's even if the plan for something like a royal ball gets accepted. It might be a completely different theme this time. We already have a parent party planner assigned." Dwight looked at Baldric apologetically. "Sorry Baldric."
"Tis true." Gretta sighed. "Not everything is playing in the same order as last time."
"We'll figure it out." Dwight said reassuringly. "Don't worry, we've got time. If not this dance, there's still others before we graduate next year." He thought of the different dances the school held. There was homecoming, the winter formal, the sweethearts ball, the spring fling, and prom for their senior year.
