The feline furrowed her eyebrows and looked at the knight in surprise. Why did she do that when she was clearly suspicious of someone targeting her because of her relationship with her? As the Queen walked away and allowed her guests to continue with their night Catra looked up at her in worry.
"What are you thinking!?"
"I can handle myself. I don't trust anyone to guard you and if I am the target then no one else will be at risk of being hurt. Because they won't target you, but me." She looked at her for a moment "I will not leave your side. I-..." She paused, about to say something she might regret before adding "care about you. Deeply. I'm not risking you getting hurt. Even if it saves my own life. I want to be beside you. I'm not going to cower in a corner because someone wants me dead."
"You know you're going into the wolf's mouth right?.... Begging it to eat you alive" Catra hissed while not being able to understand how easily she was taking such risks in her life.
"Well I wouldn't say I'm begging but I've had my head in a wolf's mouth before. Very well trained actually" The feline's eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips and she sighed because of the stubborn woman's answer. "I care about you. That's why I tell you to step back" She grunted in surrender while walking around the room. Her mother was already upstairs. "Listen, just....agh... be careful please.." Adora took a deep breath and looked at her when she said that she cared about her "Let me take care of you. I can take care of myself too" She smiled gently at her while following her upstairs "Good thing I have my sword on me. Even though my armour is too dented to use right now I'll still be able to stand guard."
"You're not going anywhere like this ...." Catra held her by the wrist to guide her up to her room. She couldn't allow her to stand on guard like this. She had no armour but only a sword. The warrior just blinked in confusion as she was dragged along by her though she let it happen. She just quietly followed behind her when she realised she probably didn't smell all that great. Catra didn't seem to care since she held her close to her.
As Adora stepped in her chamber she could say that this was clearly not just a bedroom. The room had its own living room with a balcony and a thin paper wall to block the sight of the king-size bed. The fireplace was close to the couch and warmed the whole room up. The bathroom was in the door right on the left. A maid would greet the two girls while bowing. "My lady ,your bath is ready I... apologise I didn't know you would bring company. Should I bring a second blanket?" The woman spoke with Catra shaking her head in response "No no ... Call my companion... I'll need to send a message and I can't leave the room right now" She didn't do anything other than walk away from her and take a seat at her small yet sculptured desk. Then she grabbed a pen to write. "Do you need a bath?- what am I asking. You were fighting for a whole day.. " she turned to the maid who was ready to leave the room but got stopped by the feline "Bring a towel for her and then leave'' She hummed and turned again to her desk. Her tail slowly creeped by her dress as the knight lifted her hands and shook her head
"No, no I'm- I'm sure I'm fine. I wiped myself down before I joined everyone for dinner. I don't need a bath.." She didn't seem to be able to convince the princess otherwise and sighed in defeat "I'm not sure this is what the Queen meant by assigning me to you, princess" She teased softly while watching her. The gold bangle around her wrist was falling out into view from under the tunic's sleeve. It was clearly made of much richer material than even the best knight would have been able to afford. She paused for a moment and glanced at her tail before looking away "If you um-.. If you wish to change into something more comfortable I can wait outside"
The feline's ears perked at the sound of her voice as she was focused on that letter. Eyes looked at her and gave her a small smile "No, I'm fine , I'll change later " She smiled and finished writing only to wait for her companion to arrive. It didn't take long since her companion was right in the next room. The maid bowed to the women telling them that the bath was ready and left quickly after closing the door behind her. "Get in the bath I'll bring you something to wear for now" The blonde nodded and looked up when the maid came up to thank her. Realising she wouldn't be able to say no to the princess, Adora let out a little sigh. She hoped she wouldn't bring her a dress as she headed into the bathroom. She hated leaving her alone while knowing that she would be at risk the longer she left her. She had to admit that she did stink. As soon as the door was closed she stripped. At first she hesitated but she eased herself down into the water. She closed her eyes and let out a soft, relaxed sigh as she rested her head on the edge for only a few moments. She sat up and got herself to work by cleaning herself up quickly so Catra wasn't alone for long. Catra on the other hand sent her letter to the Queen of the palace only to ask for new armour plates and obviously the queen agreed on helping her. Servants of the castle brought a new armour for the woman, it was a little bit smaller in size than a buff man's one.
