Chapter XXIII A Great Defeat

Adora looked around in an attempt to find where that voice was coming from. Then she saw a taller woman. She was slender. Her orbs were barely visible. Her skin was darker but...she didn't know if that woman was in her dream or she was... real. She was confused "Who are you?! What do you mean it's not the right path? Why are we in Brightmoon?!" She was angry now, stepping forward "And why the fuck are you messing with my head?!" She could see that they weren't in the forest anymore. They were in the castle's yard.

"I'm Light Hope. I guided you to the sword, Adora.." She looked at the blonde and took a short breath. "I'm the one who connected you to the sword. You're the new Shera and you shall take the right path to move on to your goal. The true power of Shera is not the one you're carrying right now" She paused for a second "You trusted the ones who wanted to use this power. To use you and not the ones who would make you move forward to the next step. Where's the sword, Adora?" She said after yet another long pause.

"I-... I lost it. The Horde took it from me when they imprisoned me in battle. I haven't been able to get it back.. We've been losing... But- why, why are you messing with my head? I hurt my wife because of you! I nearly hit her because of you and now I-... I might lose her because of what you've done to me!" She was angry at her now as she stepped forward "My wife is my world and I might lose her because OF YOU!"

"You won't lose someone you've lost already ,Adora.. I did nothing. The visions were clear but you refused to open your mind and let me explain. She ran away because she didn't want you anymore. The princess of BrightMoon spends all her time around Catra in the palace. Do you think she's treating her just like Glimmer told you? Do you think that Queen Angella wants you around because you're a good knight or a good soldier in the battle? She's losing without you, Adora. They all want to just use you. That princess you call your wife as well. Do you think she doesn't know where the sword is? She keeps sending messages to her mother. She knew everything you've been through yet now that things don't go as she had planned.. She wanted you to leave with her without the sword. Without Shera... Everyone wants you because of the sword." The woman spoke sharply and let the images of the feline write down these messages. But one certain scene was still repeating while glitching. There the girl was getting not captured but killed by the Horde soldiers. "Now you left her and your only chance of getting the sword back is gone. Light Spinner has it and if you were smart enough you would go by her side.."

The blonde one's eyes widened. Her hands were shaking as she listened. She looked away from her now before closing her eyes "No... No no no She can't be dead she-.. S-she can't be dead! You're lying! Y-.. You have to be lying.." She let out a soft cry, shaking, before looking up at her "They aren't using me.. They wanted me before I had the sword.. Right...?"

"Everyone knows who Shera is ... especially when they are an angelic being, Adora. Catra was the princess of the Horde. Bright moon needs you to defeat the Horde and didn't expect Catra to leave the palace. Queen Angella insisted that the princess had to stay so she would die. She knew this would happen, Adora. The queen doesn't want you to be in love with the enemy. She was displeased with her and your choices. She wants her and the queen of the Horde out of her way." She insisted on showing more glitchy images to the woman.

"They.. They used me... Pretended to be my friend... I-I.. I thought they were good... I thought I was better at telling when people were lying.." She was getting overwhelmed again, starting to panic. The images were so real so...close. She left Catra alone and she knew it took her more than three days. Catra was waiting for her and she ...she left. She let her die. "And-.. And Catra.. Why.. Why did the soldiers-... Why is she gone.. She didn't do anything wrong... What about our children? Our babies? Are they-.. Gone too?"
