A/N: You bet this chapter is named after Nick Nelson's line.
ALSO WHEN IM WRITING THIS DANIELLE SAVRE CAME OUT AND I COULDNT BE MORE PROUD OF HER I LOVE HER SO SO SO MUCH I CANT PUT IT INTO WORDS- <3--- (Natasha's POV)
Marci's coming over to go on the dropoff with me today, which I'm glad Wanda liked the idea. After all, she is the one who brought them to us. Luckily, Wanda was oblivious to my ulterior motive, well, everyone was. It's not bad, don't worry.
I just hope that everything goes according to plan and that Marci feels the same way. If she doesn't, if she tells Wanda, that would be very very bad. There'd be no denying it, either. We all love each other like family, but this just might be too big of a straw to just let by.
But then again, sometimes you just gotta take that jump, take that leap, and hope you don't fall.
I start getting ready at 11, since Marci will be here at noon, a good amount of time before we have to go. Maybe I'll show her around the place, show her how to get around here if she ever needs to. After all, we do have a game night later. I wonder how she plans on getting there. Or even more so, how she plans to get home afterward. She didn't drink much, and there were some time between the drinks and the time we had left, so she was fine.
Trust me, I wouldn't have let her drive were it to be unsafe for her. Or Wanda wouldn't have either. We can't afford to get into accidents either, because authorities are a big no from us.
Since we're going on a drop off, I dress in simple leggings and a t-shirt per usual, not like I don't wear that everyday anyways. That's a perk of this job, our dress is rather relaxed, the nicest we get is a nice blouse and trousers. No one's a fan of dresses, they're just too much worry packed into a piece of clothing.
Is too much showing? Do I need to wear something underneath? How's the wind? What shoes go with it?
Knowing Natasha will be dressed similarly, I put my hair into my signature braids, keeping it technically down, but out of my face, which is perfect. My shoes are already by the front door for when we go to leave, so all that I'll need is the car keys and house key which are currently sitting on the dining room table.
Everything's ready to go, and now all that there's left to go is Marci's arrival.
Which isn't long, as a few minutes later, right at 12, there's a buzzing from the gate, alerting us that someone is attempting to come in. Maybe Wanda will let me tell her the code, after all, she does work with us, everyone around here knows it, so why shouldn't she?
I press the button by the front door, allowing the gate to open and for Marci to drive up the rest of the driveway. I open the door as she's getting out and go to greet her.
"Hey Marci," I greet her, as I walk up to her.
"Hey Natasha," she greets me back, giving me another hug. I hug her back, never wanting to let go.
Aware of our surroundings, we do let go, and I lead her inside. Loki's walking in the room, noticing that we have company.
"Oh hey Marci," he says to her, continuing on to the kitchen probably to get himself a drink.
"Hey Loki," she says back, so naturally too, although she has seen him less than me. She's a natural at this.
"Want something to drink?" I ask, Loki walking to the kitchen reminding me of that. Thanks, Loki.
"Oh I'm good, thanks though," she politely declines.
"Well, we also have food if you're hungry," I remember it's around lunchtime.
